Quote:Not when they are PREGNANT.....Story I read didn't say that…but once again what was the evidence. I would think they would prosecute even without her if there was a ton of bruises and etc... Quote:I'm completely confused. Reports about this incident are all over the place. Apparently he was both found guilty AND the charges were dropped???? North Carolina has screwy laws. He was found guilty at a bench trial. From there he was set to have a jury trial and that is where the charges were dropped. Quote:So angry chick could have said all this to get him charged? Not sure he did do it or not. But if it is a basless claim by a angry woman and the charges were dropped why is the NFL still not realeased a statement about his status. So im guessing somthing happend and she was paid off.

I'd try to sign him at or slightly above his market value and place a clause in his contract that any remaining guarantees get waived if he's convicted of any violent crimes. I'm not sure if that is legal under the CBA, but we were able to put something similar into Blackmon's contract with substance abuse.
The suspension was supposed to be declared yesterday. I'm completely shocked we still haven't heard anything definitive yet.
Hey I get the old day chivalry women are the golden throne of a mans pp, treat them like gold paradox but we live in 2015 and women want equality. I am in the major minority in actually wanting actual equality between men and women... QUICK FACT: Men are also victim of domestic violence(man on man, woman on man etc)...
To me it goes both ways and both should be seen equally among all genders, age, race, etc. Yes, he did have an altercation w/ a woman, but is that really any different than any other human being( man, woman, child etc?) Why is it JUST because its a woman it is a problem for some? Is it ok if its a man? Or better if it was a minor? NO! It should be why is he hitting someone at all?! Thats the real question, that and has he learned from it and bettered himself? No one is perfect ffs, and if Dave feels he is a better person after it and has leanred from it, then sign the dude. He is a stud, game changer, impact player, you name it. Hes good at football. Make it happen Dave!

I'm not sure this account is accurate. I do not condone hitting women. I thought I read that she was drunk and wouldn't leave his place after repeated requests to do so and then he to some degree placed his hands on her to remove her.
Only a chump boos the home team!

According to what I've read, she claimed she used cocaine and was drinking the night of the incident.
The thing with effort guys like him and watt are you will never get the sack when you need it

There was supposedly photographic evidence along with other content that the league has petitioned to obtain for their investigation. Not sure if they ever got a response from the prosecutors. This report did indicate that there was evidence of a financial settlement. If the victim won't press charges, the case goes away. Never argue with idiots. Sorry Rocdee, I thought the subject was strong enough to merit it's own topic.
The victim needs to testify at trial to convict him. The prosecutors can't show pictures without the victim to testify to the jury that Hardy did this to her. If she shows up at trial he is toast. If she doesn't the prosecutors are almost forced to drop the charges.

I say sign him. Lets see if Good Ol Boy Gus can make him a beast on the field and a prince off.
I'd love to hear the discussions between Caldwell and Khan as to what the fan reaction might be to a signing.
They probably wish there was a way to do a quick fan poll. They certainly will need to prepare for a negative response - just don't know how strong or how long.
The sun's not yellow, it's chicken.
I think I dislike the person more than I like the player in this situation, and I like the player quite a bit. I'm all for bringing in some nasty non choir boy players like Parnell, but a legitimately bad human being like Hardy I would pass.
I am content with merely spending more than the 2nd and 3rd place spenders combined this offseason. If Dave wants to add another ancillary piece or two that would be great, but another expensive splash player just because FA fever is strong is not necessary to me. |
