I have a feeling the Jaguars will select the highest rated player on their board with their first pick, if they have Amari Cooper/Kevin White rated ahead of an edge rusher I think they'll pull the trigger, especially if Leonard Williams goes 2nd to Ten. David is too smart to pass on an elite prospect to fill a need, especially in a draft that lacks top end elite talent.

Agree.

 

To add to that, supposedly there are a lot of second round graded talent to be found into the third.  Small pool of first round grades, very large pool of seconds.

Don't really think this draft is that much different than most drafts as far as being top end heavy. 2013 actually seemed much worse as far as elite players at the top.

There's plenty of fine players.


Some people just like to trade down for the sake of trading down. Always want a better value deal, whatever that may mean.

(I'm not talking about you btw, just saying)


So trading down to 20 and out of the "elite" talent would be foolish IMO. Getting 2nd and 3rd round value picks are not nearly as important as having a potential impact all-pro guy, which is what you're hoping to get at #3.

His comments didn't change anything, there's always going to be a huge dropoff from 3 to 20. IMO, we shouldn't trade down unless we are fairly compensated.
