Free Agency... NOW THE DRAFT!

#1

Okay guys, now after seeing the free agents land in town and everyone get signed and people make opinions and seeing where they fit in... what makes the most sense vs. what player would you like to draft at #3 or do you guys just want to trade down and go after BAP at that point... tons of options

Id like to see....Dante Fowler Jr

What I think we will see.... Cooper or White/ Beasley

I'm okay personally with all of them, I wont be sweating out this draft I don't think.

I sweated out the last draft and I ended up being shocked as hell when we took Bortles

I agree ...... Dante Fowler Jr. However I think if we get a great ...... not just good offer to trade down we will for more picks.

Well I thought we were going to get Maxx Williams (trade up if necessary) or Walford with our 2nd rd. pick. Doubt that's happening after signing Julius. Assuming Jameis/Leonard go 1&2, I hope we draft Amari or get a ransom for Mariota. Outside the no. 3 overall pick, I see us stocking up on linebackers/edgerushers (competition) and maybe acquiring Tyler Lockett

If Dave wants OTTO, then Beasley. I think he is the best player and also highest upside, but it's real close with Gregory. Could be our Von Miller. If Dave wants LEO, then Gregory. One of those two would be my pick fairly easily at this point.

Fowler 2nd best at both OTTO and LEO, not great but not bad pick at 3. Probably the pass rusher most ready to contribute from day 1.

White, Amari, and Dupree would also not be terrible unconventional picks, either.

Only pick that I would absolutely hate is Shane Ray (or any olineman obviously).

I'm also pretty sure that giving Odrick such a big deal takes Leo Williams out of the running if he were available, as they are virtually the same exact guy.

Fowler does both, backer and edge rusher.

But he doesn't do either of them as well as Beasley or Gregory was my point.

I'm on the Beasley or WR wagon at #3.

Trade with the Jets who will have to move up for their QB. We'll still get an impact player whether it's a LEO, WR, or OTTO. I'm not expecting an RG3 type trade with multiple first round picks but how about the jets 6th overall, 3rd rounder this year, and 2nd round next year?

Me personally, I would love to trade with Cleveland to get their two first rounders. Then draft the best available LEO/OTTO and Gurley in the 1st. I would also try and sign Tashaun Gipson from the Browns and give up our 2nd. In the 3rd, I would go after Lockett to handle the slot and return duties. From then on draft for depth.

QB - Bortles, Henne

RB - Gurley, Denard, Gerhart, Storm

FB - ?

WR - Robinson, Blackmon, Hurns

WR - Lee, Lockett

TE - Thomas, Lewis, Harbor

LT - Joeckel, Wells

LG - Beadles, Shatley

C - Bowanko, draft

RG - Linder, Pasztor

RT - Parnell, Williams

LEO - 1st, Clemons, Branch, Smith

DT - Marks, Hood

NT - Miller, Jones

LDE - Odrik, Alualu, Davis

WLB - Smith, draft

MLB - Poz, George

SLB - Skuta, Reynolds/draft

CB - McCray, Colvin, Harris

FS - Gipson, Evans

SS - Cyprien, Brown

CB - House, Gratz

K - Scobee

P - Anger

LS - Tinker

I'd rather someone who can run block. You can easily find an UDFA to handle that.

I either draft Fowler at 3 or trade down. I'm not impressed with Gregory and Beasley I don't see as Leo fit. Otto LB only. I like Cooper but don't love him at 3 u better love him.

What I wish I could know is the motivation of all of the people who want Fowler at 3. I can't help but think that for the majority it's simply the local/conference affiliations.

Everyone I follow and trust that does this stuff (which is a lot), likes Fowler...but very few of them like Fowler more than both Beasley or Gregory. Maybe 5% of them. Heck, I probably see more people that like Dupree more than Fowler than vice versa.

Yet I come on here and it is like 50/50, far larger percentages than anywhere else. Is that purely the UF/SEC slant for most people? Not knocking people who like Fowler because he is a fine prospect, just honestly curious why it's so skewed on this forum.

Beasley disappeared in college games. Imagine what will happen in the NFL. Fowler at 3 and I'm no Gator fan.

I think it is because he has better upside and versatility. Fowler has instincts that you cannot learn - he is a natural. He is a guy you can move around to confuse the O-line. He can line up as a LDE, RDE, DT and OLE. He does need to get stronger and get better recognition against the run. He does tend to charge into the backfield. But he is good 2 point and hands in the dirt - also pretty good at coverage. Just having him there can give the opposing o-line headaches. Some compare him to a young Suggs.

FWIW, Mike Mayock was extremely high on Fowler even before the combine.

Is Shane Ray like a forgotten prospect??

I don't think he's forgotten. He seems to be falling in that 7-15 range in most mocks. If we are able to trade down, he should be heavily considered for our LEO.
