Running back poll

Ajayi clearly has football speed, but he doesn't cut ever. In the NFL, it's rare for speed alone to get it done, and for that matter, we already have Denard. I far prefer a beast like Abdullah.

As for Gurley especially, and Gordon, I see them both going round one with the Jaguars simply not in position to draft them, but I'd of course take either. Watching Gordon reminds me of watching Fred Taylor with a little less dancing. Watching Gurley makes me think of a tall Jones-Drew

Quote:Is there any chance we could get Duke Johnson in round three? I would say there's a chance. There seems to be quite a few RBs in that 2nd tier after Gurley and Gordon: Ajayi Duke Johnson David Johnson Coleman Yeldon Abudallah It all depends on how teams have them ranked. Either way, I believe a quality back will be there for our round 3 pick.
I just saw TJ Yeldon's video, and wow...
<p style="margin-left:40px;">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jsaJbJ5PKg I thought I seen him already, but it was Tevin Coleman who I watched. Yeldon has this natural explosion like booster rockets when he's in-stride. He's fun to watch, and after seeing this I have to rank him up in the top five. I still have Gurley, Gordon and Abdullah ahead of him, but I'll take Yeldon easily over the likes of Coleman (lacks consistency), Ajayi (overrated) and David Johnson (developmental). I'll even give TJ the edge over Duke.

As an aside, I just noticed that Ameer's short shuttle time of 3.95 is the 2nd best ever in league history...
1. Chris Rainey (2012) 3.93 2. Ameer Abdullah (2015) 3.95 3. Bishop Sankey (2014) 4.00

It's hard to make a decision based on watching highlight films, which naturally pick out the best bits.
And the people who edit them seen to prefer to include the long sprints rather than the crashing through tackles for shorter gains. But yes Yeldons look good too. I liked the Cobb highlights too - because they show someone grinding out the tough yards, rather than making some long runs into space. |
