|
Give me Buck Allen in the 4th from USC. Awesome pass catcher out of the backfield as well.

Round 1: Kevin White WR West Virginia
Round 2: Todd Gurley RB Georgia Round 3: Cedric Ogbuehi OT Texas A&M Round 4: Ben Heeney MLB Kansas Round 5: Kurtis Drummond FS Michigan St Round 6: Shaq Riddick DE West Virginia Round 7: Deon Simon DT Northwestern St This is my get Bortles some more weapons mock draft.
Rd 1(3): Dante Fowler - DE Leo - Florida - Pass Rusher at Leo
Rd 2(36): Jay Ajayi - RB - Boise State - Big Physical RB Rd 3(67): Cody Prewitt - FS - Mississippi - Single High Safety Rd 4(103): Tyler Lockett - Slot WR/KR - Kansas State - Starting Slot WR and Punt Returner Rd 5(138): MyCole Pruitt - TE - Southern Illinois - H-Back/TE Rd 6(175): Jarvis Harrison - OG - Texas A&M - Backup OLG Rd 7(211): Kyle Emanuel - Otto LB - North Dakota State - Backup Otto LB
Rd 1(5): Randy Gregory (Traded back with Redskins, get extra 2nd and give them our 5th)
Rd 2(36)Cameron Erving- Love his versatility and can compete immediately with Bowanko. Rd.2(39)Quinten Rollins- Potential to be best free safety in this draft. Jags greatest need is addressed, although he may initially be backup to Brown. Rd.3(67)Denzell Perryman/Paul Dawson- One may drop due to poor combine performances. Either would be steal here. Rd.4(103)David Johnson/Buck Allen/David Cobb- Worth waiting til 4th since any of these guys have 2nd round ability at running back. Rd.6(175)Ben Heeney- Backup to Poz. Rd.7(211)BAP who can excel on special teams. Hopefully the Redskins are desperate to replace RG3 and willing to give up 2nd rounder to move up just 2 spots. Jags had to throw in the 5th rounder to make this trade happen. It was hard to pass on slot receiver like Lockett in the 3rd, but Perryman/Dawson too good to pass up. I expect the Jags to acquire a free agent wide receiver once Shorts is signed by another team. Quote:Abdullah, who you called "the next Beastmode", had a slower 40, his NFL comparison was Andre Ellington, and although he has good hands, the write up said he has issues with pass protection. I think I'd prefer Ajayi. The 40 time is only one stat, and Ameer was only slightly slower. Again, that really doesn't matter considering Ameer was #1...as in numero uno...in virtually every other drill. In other words, when it comes to RBs, he totally stole the show, and not one RB ran that much faster. Ameer ran a 4.60... Ajayi ran a 4.57... and the fastest RB, Langford, ran a 4.42. None of the RB times compare to the times ran by Fred Taylor, Jones-Drew and Denard Robinson. Now let's compare Ajayi and Abdullah in the other drills... 3 cone: Abdullah 6.79 (#1) ... Ajayi 7.10 (#13) shuttle: Abdullah 3.95 (#1) ... Ajayi 4.10 (#3) Vertical: Abdullah 42.5" (#1) ... Ajayi 39" (#5) Broad: Abdullah 130" (#1) ... Ajayi 121" (#6 - tied with 6 players) Forget what you read about these RBs and watch them. Ajayi breaks out a lot on tape, but he's consistently just gliding. He's not a one cut guy...he's a no cut guy. When he's turning a corner, he's basically running along a large radius. What scares me is that while this worked in college, I don't see it working in the NFL.

Based off updated 7 round mock from Drafttek:
Rd 1: DT Leonard Williams Rd 2: RB Todd Gurley Rd 3: MLB Denzel Perryman Rd 4: FS Derron Smith Rd 5: WR/PR/KR Ty Montgomery Rd 6: OC/OG Max Garcia Rd 7: OLB Derrick Malone
For all of you who want Shaq Thompson, why? Where would you put him? Will is locked up, as is OTTO (either with Skuta or our first pick), so that leaves Mike. If you wanna replace Poz I understand but why not get a natural Mike like Denzel Perryman or McKinney?

2015 NFL Draft - Analyzing Targets www.jungle.jaguars.com/index.php?/topic/7892-2015-nfl-draft-analyzing-targets/
Quote:I thought Preston Smith was a litle big for LEO. He's like 6'5" 280. Thought he was more of a DE/DT tweener, not DE/OLB, but might be wrong. Beadles, who they paid big for last year is the starting LG for years to come, unless I am missing something. Someone posted a excel sheets based on combine times and height//weight Combos and only Harold and P.Smith checked all the boxes...not saying they would be the best but that they could fill the roles very nicely. As for Beadles...he started slow and wasn't worth his paycheck in most people's eyes. Now Clemmings would basically sit//be depth year one but he has the ability to be LT//RT or Guard. If after next year, Joeckel or Beadles or Parnell don't play up to par you have a stud Rookie that can fit in to any of those spots. Not overly familiar with Beadles contract but I'm sure he will have very little dead money left if he was cut after next year.

LOL. Abdullah was impressive in a lot of the combine underwear drills, but Ajayi is bigger, stronger, had a better 40 time, is better in pass protection, and a more complete back. Both do have ball security issues, so that will be a problem for some teams. I don't have a crystal ball, but I will bet Ajayi is drafted before Abdullah and has more success. Just a hunch. And I wouldn't be surprised if Tevin Coleman goes before Ajayi either. Now if we have not taken a RB yet, and Abdullah was sitting there in the 3rd round, I'd have no problem with it. 1. Melvin Gordon 2. Todd Gurley 3. Jay Ajayi 4. Tevin Coleman 5. Ameer Abdullah

Aside from Ajayi running a mere .03 faster in the 40, Abdullah blew away him and all the other RBs in the other drills. That stands out to me, but that's not even how I noticed him. I noticed him on tape because he's an absolute monster on the field. You claim here that Ajayi is stronger, but I don't see that either. One combine stat I missed is their number of reps on the bench. Abdullah did 24. Ajayi did 19. There were 15 RBs that did at least 20 reps. You might as well cross that claim off your list.

Quote: I am a huge Lockett fan. The exact type of the receiver this team needs on the third day.
What I think might happen not necessarily what I want to happen in the draft...
#1 st Round DE Dante Fowler Jr. Florida #2nd Round CB P.J. Williams, Florida State, 6’0” 196lbs ran the 40 in 4.46 #3rd Round RB David Johnson, Northern Iowa, 6'1" 220lbs ran the 40 in 4.50 #4th Round G Tyrus Thompson, Oklahoma 6’5” 324lbs ran 40 in 5.21 #5th Round TE Wes Sexton, South Alabama, 6’4” 235 lbs ran 40 in 4.56, 50 catches for 635 yards, injuries has him dropped down to 5th . #6 Round FB Jalston Fowler, Alabama, 5'11" 254lbs ran the 40 in 4.94 #7th Round DB Josh Shaw 6’0” 198lbs, ran the 40 in 4.47 Quote:Check out the 7 Rd Mock draft here: Rd 1 - Leonard Williams Rd 2 - TJ Clemmings Rd 3 - DGB Rd 4 - Kurtis Drummond Rd 5 - DJ Humphries This was an interesting mock. The RBs went higher than I think they will. With the Jaguars spending a lot in FA, I went with BAP with most of the picks. The signing of Odrick begs to question, why Williams? Where will he play? Tempted to go pass rusher here, but I'm not going to get too fancy here. Similar thing here. Why Clemmings after the signing of Parnell? I think Clemmings has potential through the roof, but needs seasoning. He's here to provide competition, with the hope he'll push both Luke and Parnell. This was probably the toughest spot. Swing for the fence pick here. Drummond can be groomed behind Brown. Has the pass defense skills, but needs work on physicality and tackling. If he can be taught that, could be the single high FS we've been looking for. Humprhies. Another tackle? Yeah, 5th round? Too good of a value, IMO. If the mock goes this way, I think we'll see how much Dave will stick to need picks. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
From what I have seen and heard about the Browns and Eagles, I think that both teams are still interested in trading up for Mariota. I heard Shefter say on ESPN that the Eagles are still exploring trading up for Mariota and seeing the Browns offered a 1st round pick for Bradford it seems like they are still interested, so I wanted to create a hypothetical just for the fun of it looking at trade values.
Say that we were offered these two trade scenarios: Browns offer: Eagles Offer: R1 PK 12 R1 PK 20 R1 PK 19 R2 PK 52 R4 PK 108 R3 PK 84 2015 1st Round Pick According to trade values, both these deals are considered to be pretty much equal, so which would you choose to accept?

This draft is another one of those top heavy but deep drafts with value into the 2nd/3rd rounds…and the Jags still have lots of holes. I would personally take Philly's offer…It gives flexibility and would allow Caldwell to take some risk picks.. At 20: Grab MLB - Kendricks or Dupree In the 2nd: You can afford to draft a Gurley and sit him as you have the second 2nd rounder In the 3rd: Grab Ogbuehi and sit him
I would take the Browns' offer over the Eagles. In this scenario, I would take the following players:
1. PK 12: Amari Cooper/Kevin White/Davante Parker - Prefer LEO or Otto, but the best ones are gone. One of these receivers will be there. 2. PK 19: Todd Gurley/Melvin Gordon- No excuses for Blake. 3. PK 36 (Rd. 2)- Eli Harold- Can rush the passer. 4. PK67 (Rd 3)- Quinten Rollins/Derron Smith- Free safety is top need. 5. PK 108 (Rd. 4)- Hroniss Grasu- Competition at interior line. 6. Rd. 5- Jalston Fowler- New blocking back/fullback. 7/8 - Best special teams players. |
