Free Agency... NOW THE DRAFT!
|
Personally I like the tenacity Fowler brings to the table. The guy is all over the place for a DE.
I like Vic too. Liked him last year and woildnt mind if we took him. Nothing wrong with gregory either. Won't be mad at any of them if they are picked. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Give me Danny Shelton and I don't care what you do with the rest of the draft.
Quote:If Dave wants OTTO, then Beasley. I think he is the best player and also highest upside, but it's real close with Gregory. Could be our Von Miller. If Dave wants LEO, then Gregory. One of those two would be my pick fairly easily at this point. why do you hate shane ray?
Pretty Much agree with KYjaggy...
If Otto is a position that Gus/Dave deem as a highly valuable cog the pick at 3 will be Beasley. He is the Protype for what they describe the Otto to be. Many believe Otto is kinda of a down the totem pole position and I agree that Leo is the more premier position but Beasley just screams Otto while no one else in the draft really fits that bill like he would. I could see Fowler if you want Day 1 most pro-ready or Gregory if you want what is seen as the higher ceiling/bust type guy for Leo as well. A somewhat mystery pick really could be Shelton out of Washington. Losing Mebane was a big hit to Seattle so I could see a 1% chance or so that Shelton could be picked to replace the injured Miller. What I want….if no trade down: 1st: Williams//Beasley…still like Williams as the premier player in this draft but Titans might grab him at 2. 2nd: OT that falls out of 1st or P.Smith//Harold to be the Leo. 3rd: Perryman If the first 3 rounds went like that the front 7 would be pretty sick//set//young Perryman T. Smith Beasley P.Smith//Harold Marks Miller Odrick
I don't see how anyone could say Fowler is the most pro-ready and not say he has equal amount of upside. He's a 20 year old true Junior that never found a position in college. Play all along the D-Line and linebackers. Has/had baby fat to shed

Has/had baby fat to shed I think its all about the frame when I say higher ceiling…I think Gregory could hold the weight better and was more explosive in the drills 6'3" 261 lbs 32.5 vert 112 Broad 7.4 three cone 19 on the bench 6'5" 235 lbs 36.5 vert 125 Broad 6.79 three cone 24 on the bench with longer arms
So basically the Fowler/Gregory/Beasley talk is going to be Bridgewater/Manziel/Bortles all over again?
Align yourself with one and never back down.

; Quote:why do you hate shane ray?He is a defensive tackle in an OLB body. He doesn't have or play with LEO length. He doesn't show nearly enough lateral movement to play OTTO. He has a good first step and he has a good motor. Those traits would work nicely as an inside passing down rusher. Other than that I don't find anything to really like about him. Like I already said he doesn't play with length or lateral movement, and he doesn't show much bend or hand usage. As the tweet below says, bulk him up and he could be a really good Ryan Davis type of player. For example, two of the more respected guys going right now that share this opinion: Ben Fennell @TheXOsOfLife Mar 6 When I see Missouri's Shane Ray kick inside at 3tech and beat a guard in space - I think of Ryan Davis...Need an interior pass rush presence <div>Justis Mosqueda @JuMosq · 17h17 hours ago </div> Shane Ray is Jerel Worthy as an edge player and he's still being mocked top-10. I don't get this one, man.
My first choice would be Williams, as he is widely viewed as the best defensive player in the draft. If not available, I would go with Fowler, as a young active edge rusher would bring the defense up a notch. Mike Mayock, who watches lots of tape and has an opinion I respect, puts Fowler as the best edge rusher in the draft.
My preference would be for the Jags to take a trade down offer for an extra pick(s). However, I would still want to be in the top 10, in order to get a more impactful player (ie. one of the to rushers or WRs). We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I would actually like to draft Stephon Anthony MLB from Clemson in the 2nd. I have been watching a lot of film on him and Beasley, Anthony really sticks out and is constantly making plays in coverage and in the run. With Poz on the decline and being such a liability in coverage, Anthony would be perfect to take over Poz duties, plus we really need depth at Lb
Quote:I think it is because he has better upside and versatility. Fowler has instincts that you cannot learn - he is a natural. He is a guy you can move around to confuse the O-line. He can line up as a LDE, RDE, DT and OLE. He does need to get stronger and get better recognition against the run. He does tend to charge into the backfield. But he is good 2 point and hands in the dirt - also pretty good at coverage. Just having him there can give the opposing o-line headaches. Some compare him to a young Suggs.Yup the guy played all over the field, thats what Gus likes players like that, also plays with energy and passion and loves the game.

Quote:I think its all about the frame when I say higher ceiling…I think Gregory could hold the weight better and was more explosive in the drills The question is, will he be as explosive as Fowler if you put 26 lbs on Gregory? I don't think its out of the question that their numbers become similar if you ask Gregory to put on those added lbs (which is something you have to ask, given that some claim that Gregory played at an even lesser weight than 235 during the season...like, sub 220). If so, then you come down to production and performance. IMO, Fowler looks better on tape than Gregory. Quote:I think its all about the frame when I say higher ceiling…I think Gregory could hold the weight better and was more explosive in the drills I get that. And I love Randy Gregory as a prospect, but you can only choose one. I wasn't questioning Gregory's upside, just why some people say Fowler is the most pro ready when he has so much upside as well We show less advertisements to registered users. Shelton at 339lbs only had a 2 in shorter vert than Fowler. |
