Browns offered 1st rounder for Bradford
|
Looks legit. Anyone else think that both the Browns are crazy for offering it and the Eagles are crazy for not accepting it?

If Bradford ends up being nothing more than a stopgap in Philly, Chip is going to look awfully dumb for not taking the Browns up on that.

Does anything the Browns do surprise us anymore? Charley Casserly thinks the Browns will trade up for Marcus Mariota. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/mock-draft...rly/245601 We show less advertisements to registered users. Didn't they just draft a QB in round 1? Hell, if they draft a QB in the 1st this year that would be the third QB drafted by them in the 1st since we drafted Gabbert.
Quote:It seems like everything is crazy this year. Does anything the Browns do surprise us anymore? If so then there could be a bidding war for Mariota. Could be good for us or could be good for the tacks.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
I knew it was the Browns when Chip said that.

Quote:Looks legit. Anyone else think that both the Browns are crazy for offering it and the Eagles are crazy for not accepting it? Well this also means the Rams chose Nick Foles + 2nd + 5th over the Browns' 1st rounder. Either way, it would make no real sense for the Eagles to trade Sam Bradford after what they already gave up to get him.
If they are willing to give that much up for Bradford, maybe there's hope they trade up with us and give us both of their firsts, although they'd probably try and talk to Tennessee before us just to secure Mariota.

Quote:Casserly also thought the Saints traded for Marcedes Lewis I wish they did. It would be nice to get a draft pick out of him.

More likely a first and a second. No team with two first round picks traded both of them to the same team to move up in the last 10 years, so I will never believe it until it happens if someone says the Browns would do that. They don't need to talk to the Titans. The team they need to talk to is the Raiders. Quote:I wish they did. It would be nice to get a draft pick out of him. If not for the Saints salary cap situation, Jimmy Graham probably would still be in New Orleans. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Looks legit. Anyone else think that both the Browns are crazy for offering it and the Eagles are crazy for not accepting it? Either way, the QB situations of both teams are now problematic. The Browns have wasted countless high quality draft resources on QB's that didn't pan out or are in the process of not panning out. The Eagles now have more questions than answers at QB. With the cost of trading up for Marcus Mariota something that could set that franchise back even more than the RGIII trade has set the Redskins back. I think there's a good chance that by the 2017 off-season, both teams will have new GMs and HCs.
Quote:If not for the Saints salary cap situation, Jimmy Graham probably would still be in New Orleans. That fact makes me wonder why Max Unger was part of the trade. From a Saints perspective, wouldn't it make more sense to just get picks instead of a pick and a player? If Unger was not involved, the Saints could have traded a pick for Lewis and asked him upon arrival to take a pay cut. Quote:That fact makes me wonder why Max Unger was part of the trade. If Unger was not involved, the Saints could have traded a pick for Lewis and asked him upon arrival to take a pay cut. Under this scenario, I believe Marcedes Lewis would have told the Saints either provide me with terms of a contract that are satisfactory or release me. The benefit of being released, compared to taking the type of pay cut the Saints would have very likely asked from him, is Lewis would have be able to negotiate with all of the other NFL teams that would have had interest in him. |
