Browns offered 1st rounder for Bradford
|
Now Eagles could trade Bradford to Browns for pick 19? Would give Kelly pick 19 and pick 20. Ammunition to move up for Mariota?

Quote: Either way, the QB situations of both teams are now problematic. The Browns have wasted countless high quality draft resources on QB's that didn't pan out or are in the process of not panning out. The Eagles now have more questions than answers at QB. With the cost of trading up for Marcus Mariota something that could set that franchise back even more than the RGIII trade has set the Redskins back. I think there's a good chance that by the 2017 off-season, both teams will have new GMs and HCs.I'm fine with that as long as Cleveland first gives us their two first rounders this year for Mariota. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:That fact makes me wonder why Max Unger was part of the trade. From a Saints perspective, wouldn't it make more sense to just get picks instead of a pick and a player? If Unger was not involved, the Saints could have traded a pick for Lewis and asked him upon arrival to take a pay cut.1. Unger is a very good center, and he's young and cheap. He's the type of player the Saints are looking to rebuild around (aside from Kenny Stills for whatever reason). 2. Unger's value is so much higher than Marcedes' ever was or ever will be. If asked to choose between a good, young, cheap offensive lineman and a mediocre, old, pricey tight end, I'd take the center every time. Quote:Maybe Kevin Costner should just step in..He can offer them a second round pick in each of the next three years. Or only if there's a specific player ( Leonard Williams comes to mind as a possibility ) who was taken before the Jags were on the clock with pick # 3? But does Unger fill a need? I never read anything about the Saints needing a center, so the decision to get him of all Seahawks is a head scratcher. Quote:But does Unger fill a need? There aren't many Centers in the NFL that most personnel executives would rank higher. Quote:But does Unger fill a need? Yeah, it was a need. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Another potential team who could trade up. Give me the two 1s for Mariota. Forget it. Teams simply do not trade both first round picks to the same team to move up. They always trade one first and a couple later round picks. Why would any team want to give up a first round pick after tradimg one of their best players to get it? People need to stop dreaming about something that never happens. Quote:Forget it. Teams simply do not trade both first round picks to the same team to move up. The Saints selected defensive tackle Johnathan Sullivan; the Cardinals took wide receiver Bryant Johnson and defensive end Calvin Pace. Come on, JDub, we've had this exact conversation before. It's rare, but if the Saints liked a defensive tackle enough to give up a pair of mid-first picks to move up to six overall, what do you think it would cost the Browns to go from a couple of mid-first picks to three overall?

The idea the Saints would do it again this year is not realistic. My head is in reality - what can you expect, not what you want.
Caldwell, trade our pick to the Browns for both of their 1st and their 2nd. They'd probably do it. Why would you want to give up a first for Bradford?!
