Draft Sleepers?

#1

A few of mine are:

QB: Taylor Heinicke - I think he could be a good backup after a little development.

RB: John Crockett - just about everything you want in a RB, his long speed isn't great but he has great quickness & good vision.

Akeem Hunt - Good receiver out of the backfield, has the speed to get to the edge and hit a seam and take it 60+ for a TD.

WR: Vince Mayle - NFL skill set, and size. I think with some refinement in his routes he could be a solid 3rd WR.

Tre Mcbride - I think he'll find most of his success out of the slot in the NFL, at least early on but he has the size & speed to play outside.

LB: Gabe Martin - MAC defender played Safety/LB hybrid spot, good athleticism, size and is solid in coverage situations. 3 year starter, 3 year ALL-MAC defender even his junior year where he missed half the season due to injury.

I'm a fan of Davis Tull from Tennessee Chattanooga. I think he'd fit our OTTO position perfectly. He's crazy athletic with a 4.57 40 and a vertical of 42.5.

We can probably pick him up in the 5th rd.

Texas A&Ms Jarvis Harrison seems to have been forgotten. He seems to be one of those quick-footed, mobile guards who would fit our scheme perfectly though.

WR Deandre Smelter for a late round or priority free agent.

Smelter is definitely intriguing, two sport athlete at GT NFL size & speed, big 11" hands the only real downsize is the ACL tear in December so he'll probably start 2015 on PUP

He's considered a mid-round prospect, but it seems like he gets lost in the shuffle and nobody mentions him, so I will say it. Nelson Agholor. I really like his prospects as a returner and slot receiver and I think he should be mentioned in the same sentence as Phillip Dorsett and Tyler Lockett. I think he could be the next Randall Cobb. A guy that is kind of overlooked as a receiver, viewed more as a returner and then shows he can be a top receiver.

He'll also command attention as a KR/PR, a role that helps rookies make starting lineups.

Rashad Greene..........he's the kind of WR that maybe falls down the board a bit due to measurables, then the Patriots draft him in the 4th and end up looking like geniuses.

Davis Tull is compared by NFL.com to Dan Skuta.

I feel as though Chris Conley could be a WR draft sleeper for us.

^Though I understand that the combine is only a small part of evaluating a player, his stats in measuralbes (lengthy arms, big hands, decent height), 40 time speed and jumping are rediculous.  I guess the lack of a quick release may be his problem, but good lord if you can jump that high why bother?

Edit: I see we've already talked about him Confusedweat:

I do like Vince Mayle. He is a big, outside receiver.

I really like Zach Zenner at running back. I noticed the Jags were one of a small handful of teams present at his pro day as well. He could be a round 4 or 5 player we may be targeting.

RB - Brandon Wegher, fast and explosive, high YPC. Was at Iowa, finished career at Morningside College. Think Gerhardt in a Fred Taylor package. Could go late, might be available in FA.

I'm a big fan of him, too.  Another guy who could contribute right away at return/slot (and a position we're looking to fill.)

Akeem King from San Jose State

6'1 215 DB (former WR), ran between 4.37 & 4.47 in his 40 and definitely shows some flashes.

Jarrod West WR Syracuse

Listed at 6'3 209, can get jump balls and has some good run after catch ability.

I love Tull as well, but waiting until the fifth round means watching him go to someone else. I think the Jags would have to spend their third-round pick on him to get him, and imo he'd be worth it. He could be a situational player as a rookie, maybe even work as an edge rusher on occasion, and take over for Skuta in a year or two.

I dunno about the Fred Taylor comp. He doesn't have Fred's wiggle or moves at all. He's a one cut and go runner. Not there's anything wrong with that.
