In a trade down situation I have to think that Brandon Scherff may be a target as well, although I personally hope the move would be for Ray (I'd be ok with Beasley or Gregory as well).

If Alabama only won 11 games because of Amari Cooper, it is a perfect example of the SEC being overrated.

I have been back and forth on this one it seems a thousand times. At first I thought the Titans were merely playing games with their adamant stand on going with Mettenberger and drafting Leonard Williams. Then I began to believe their stance believing Leonard Williams would be their pick. Yet now I get the feeling that there is an 75% chance that Mariota is taken with Pick 2, either with the Titans taking the Oregon QB or the Titans accepting a trade offer. In either case, I am feeling more and more convinced that Leonard Williams drops to the Jags at Pick 3 and the Jags take him as the BAP.

 

So what does that do for the Jags Dline? Well, initially, Leonard Williams can man the 3-Tech for SenDerrick Marks, with Clemons manning the Leo, Odrick the 5-Tech and Roy Miller manning the Nose Tackle. I can envision a lineup with Odrick, Miller, Marks and Williams as the 4 Horseman of the Apocalypse.

 

As much, as I would be happy with Dante Fowler at Pick 3, I think if Leonard Williams is there at Pick 3 the team will most likely take him over Fowler.

With backups before draft being

The only trade back I am fine with is either a trade where we only move back a few spots and gain a few extra picks or a trade back involving multiple future 1st and 2nd round picks. This draft is not full of elite talent and we are in a prime spot to obtain a top pass rusher, something we have not had in a while. A trade back to maybe six for an extra 2 and 5th would be fine because we could still net a Gregory, Fowler or Beasley; all of whom I am fine with us drafting. Falling back to around 20 is going to cost a team like Caldwell said. I wouldn't do that unless an RG III trade is in place. Honestly more than that because the trade is so far back and the elite talent is not there. 

 

Sometimes just drafting the player is the best option.

While everyone talks about trades for Marcus Mariota, it seems nobody is talking about trades for elite pass rushers. What if a team wants Lenoard Williams, who is considered the best overall draft prospect? The Jaguars could decide it is not too risky to trade down because Vic Beasley and Dante Fowler will be available later if that team also has a top 10 pick. Would you accept the trade?

I dont see any scenario where Leonard Williams isnt drafted in the Top 3, and DE Fowler will most likely be drafted in the top 5 as an edge pass rushing DE is considered a premium position of desire (like a QB).  I think Mariota might go 1st overall, Williams 2nd, and Fowler 3rd but the Jaguars might trade down to get WR Cooper.
