2015 Mock Drafts
|
Quote:Worst mock I've seen yet. Yea I didn't want to knock him down too hard but you got it. Just bad all around but Prewitt in the second is scary. 5th rounder at best.
Crab Cakes and Football! That's what Jacksonville does!

Quote:Updated 7 round mock based off drafttek's newest 7 round mock: Your 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th rounders are all mocked going in the 2nd in most circles. So not very realistic.

Quote:Gregory is this year what Bridgewater was last year. Quote:Worst mock I've seen yet. Hahaha. Yes, I was expecting this kind of outrage. This is my "out-there" mock, so I wanted to have some fun. I wouldn't be mad with Gurley at #8 if Dave was picking. If Gurley is the next AP then I'm not complaining.

Bleacher Report's Matt Miller on his website Huge Upside offered up a 7 Rd Mock Draft recently. While I do not agree with many of his selections, the draft itself gave some insight into how he views the draft falling out. Further, Matt Miller makes projections on the compensational picks which effect the Jags draft selection slotting. Here are my selections based upon his draft board.
Rd 1(3): Leonard Williams - DE/DT - USC - Yet another draftnik who believes that the Mariota goes at Pick 2. Rd 2(36): Melvin Gordon - RB - Wisconsin - Only Gurley goes in Rd 1, but there is a run on RBs in Rd 2. Rd 3(67): Tyler Lockett - Slot WR - Kansas State - Available late in Rd 3 Rd 4(103): Cody Prewitt - FS - Mississippi - Most draft board have him as a Rd 3 selection. Rd 5(139): Nick O'Leary - TE - FSU - H-Back TE Jags seek to compliment Julius Thomas Rd 6(179): Davis Tull - Otto/Leo - Chattanooga - Sleeper who could development into a situational Otto or Leo Rd 7(220): Robert Myers - OG - Tennessee State - Interior Oline depth We show less advertisements to registered users. Their is an extremely unrealistic and never going to happen type of scenario on Jacksonville.com in which we trade back twice this year to get 2 extra 1st round picks next year. However, it is predicated on the Rams choosing to trade up with us to get White and then the Jets passing on Mariota allowing him to fall to 10 where the Eagles would then trade with us. Obviously, this will never happen in a billion years, so I had to see what the 1st round next year could look like, assuming teams picked like they do this year.
Pk 3: LEO Robert Nkemdiche- Stud pass rusher with Bosa already selected. Pk 10: RB Ezekiel Elliott- If their was ever a RB that warranted a Top-10 pick even in the modern NFL, this is the guy. Pk 20: LT Spencer Drango- Depending on the 2015 Joeckel season, this would either be a move to replace or provide seriously tough competition/depth at a critical position. I'd be willing to just take this draft and not even worry about rounds 2-7. We could select 6 punters and I would still classify this as one of our top 2 drafts ever. Ok. Time to come back to reality, where this will never happen.
Bleacher report has just done a mock draft giving us...
Beasley (ok, it's a fit, but we pass on Williams) Dawson (we pass on Gordon and Perryman) Grasu (passing on Ajayi among others) Jarvis Harrison (I like this one) Chris Conley (another depth player at WR ?) Davis Tull (ok...) Josh Robinson (oh great, another RB who will challenge Storm for a place on the bench) All in all, not good. We show less advertisements to registered users. Minus Oleary

Shoot, I would package the 3 and 10 to move up to get Bosa and then draft Derrick Henry with the 20 pick.

Guess I know nothing about him. I figured for a guy with all his hype and whatnot, I figured he was a playmaker. I thought he was a pass rusher.
Quote:Guess I know nothing about him. I figured for a guy with all his hype and whatnot, I figured he was a playmaker. I thought he was a pass rusher. He came in with a ton and his 1st year was tried out at DE...but didn't have the speed to consistently get pressure. Inside he is pretty beastly allowing undersized CJ Johnson and Breakout freshman Marquis Haynes to get to the QB. Haynes is one to watch as a Leo had 7.5 sacks as a True freshman he just needs to put on weight.
Shane or Bud?
Pete Prisco has a new mock draft out where he has the Jags trading back to Pick 10 with the Rams, whereby the Rams take Mariota. Pete has the Jags taking Bud Dupree at Pick 10 with both Shane Ray and Trae Waynes both on the board. Me, I take Shane Ray at Pick 10, but Trae Wayne would be tempting at that spot. I am assuming the Jags get the Rams Rd 2 selection. Also note that Gurley is not taken in Rd 1, so where does he go in Rd 2. Two players in Rd 2, could mean a RB like Jay Ajayi and also a FS like Damarious Randall. This is silly time, but it sure is fun. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:Shane or Bud? Bud... Waynes looks good but we have CBs... And unlike Williams vs. the other pass rushers…the talent gap between Waynes vs. Dupree isn't there to justify the Waynes pick. As for the 2nd round…Gurley, La'el Collins, Armstead, Kendricks all look good…I'd take any of them @ 36 Quote:Shane or Bud? I wouldn't do that only because I see LEO as a more premium position than OTTO, and I see Ray as the perfect LEO. That said, I feel like Dupree just may be the perfect OTTO. Fowler would also make for an awesome OTTO who could play LEO in a clinch, but for Dupree the position represents his ideal niche. Meanwhile, I still feel like Ajayi will struggle in the NFL, and that we'd be better off drafting Ameer Abdullah if he's there.

No trades listed, but I think Mariota goes #2 to somebody, if not the Titans. Jags take rising Fowler (a bigger need) over Williams (not as big of an impact player) due to the signing of the $8m man, Odrick. WHat are the chances of that? Been a crazy off-season, and the draft will probably be too.
