All anyone here is saying is that the colts aren't that great. You are using the colts having a good record against the jags with luck as a point of pride.

I don't remember Manning and the Colts going into the locker room with just a measly 6-3 halftime lead and getting booed at home as they left the field.

 

I heard the boo-birds myself and even the announcers said something about it.

 

If the Jags didn't have such a historically bad offense, they could have actually had a lead going into the half, with a real chance in the 2nd half.

If the Jags could just get back to something close the Garrard years or even a little better you will see some different results in our division match-ups.

 

That would NOT have been the case with prime Manning.

 

You just seem to be underestimating how historically bad the Jags have been since Luck has been in the league.

 

Heck, the whole division has been really bad, especially at the most important position of QB, which is why Luck has such a great AFCS divisional record.

 

I would not be surprised at all if the other teams in the division felt the same way abut Luck not being as "unbeatable" as Manning was.

The Colts with Luck are 5-1 against the Jags (the first game being his only loss), and are averaging +18 points against the Jags. That's 3 scores. That's the average.

 

I think this opinion by some Jags fans is more of a false belief.

At first I was upset with picking so many "older" Free Agents. With so much talent available this year in free agency, I was hoping that Grigson would've pursued a difference maker on defense. After Grigson signed Cole, Herremans, Langford, Gore and Andre Johnson his plan became evident. He understands our cap situation. With potentially large contracts coming up for Luck, T.Y., Fleener, Castonzo, and Allen (Our core group), he had to fill holes with smaller, short-term contracts. This means signing good "veteran" players at cost effective contracts. With these signings we are not worse and perhaps not better. That's okay as long as improvement can be made through the draft. 

 

I do like the Jaguars signings. This should be an interesting year in the AFC South.

Johnson will fit into the possession role that Wayne vacated for a season or two. He definitely doesn't have the home run speed anymore.

But it wont be this year. They know theyre in the twilight of their careers, and are going to go all out for that one last gasp of Super Bowl air.

They should be productive this year, and maybe one more. 

I dont think the Colts are stacked enough to go all the way, and this wont help them down the road. But for this year? It wont hurt.

Obviously those 2 are not long term answers for the colts, but you can't really blame them for trying to improve on last season's success of getting to the AFCCG by signing 2 veteran players who were very good for their previous teams.

 

The big questions are: how much do those 2 guys have left and how much can they help the team win on the field?

To start..is it enough to win in their division? Probably. Agreed, its a short term fix, but after beating Denver in Denver, theyre thinking a couple of hungry vets to get us over the top.
