Well that changes things, huh. Teams have known for a while, and some have said it's worried them and some have said it's not a major deal. I imagine for us it probably removes him from consideration, but maybe not. Will be interesting to find out. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Will be curious to see how much of an impact this has on where he gets drafted.

Darn, he was the player I wanted at #3. I'd have to imagine Gregory won't be our choice since there are others like Beasley (OTTO) and even Fowler (LEO) are close enough as prospects where that should drop him beneath them.

It will be interesting to see if there's any public news in the coming weeks about any other 1st or 2nd Round projected player testing positive for an illegal drug or banned substance. IMO, the Randy Gregory news almost certainly eliminates him from being taken by the Jaguars with pick # 3. The risk of taking him in that spot or even close to that spot seems too great.

Yeah I agree he has to be out of the #3 discussion. I would be shocked if he took a Telvin Smith type tumble to the 5th round. However, similar to Telvin Dave did overlook his combine failed drug test because he was so open, honest, and contrite about it (as Gregory was too in that article), so maybe we could get lucky and snatch him day 2 now. At least I hope.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

For somebody who is a consensus top 10 pick it is going to be very interesting to see what happens. I'm sure teams at the end of round 1 are hoping he falls to them.

I honestly have no clue how the NFL will treat it w/ Gregory. He admitted that his usage was habitual and that he used it repeatedly to cope with injuries, pain, and anxiety. With Telvin he said it was a one time thing.
I think the NFL is probably on edge w/ the habitual users like Blackmon, Gordon, and now possibly Gregory. He might drop farther than we think. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I think it's more worrying that he's had a history of this at Nebraska. Someone will take a chance on him in the first round. But it won't (and shouldn't) be us.
On PFT, Florio wrote that Gregory told people he hadn't smoked since December. I'd bet the farm that he's out of the discussion at 3, but if he really did tell teams that, he's gonna slide quite a bit. He may be a first rounder still, but this is certainly gonna cost him millions.
