The Bortles California Passing Camp
|
Quote:I find it very interesting that Jags.com has been quiet on the Bortles camp. They have shared passing camps before where the receivers were working out. Something is happening and it must be good for them to have kept it quiet. I'm sure it is over now, but it was on my mind!Considering the team isn't allowed to discuss football with the players until the middle of next month, it's not a huge surprise the team itself doesn't have much to say regarding the camp, though I hope the no news is good news axion applies here. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Something is happening and it must be good for them to have kept it quiet. I'm sure it is over now, but it was on my mind!I ran into Bortles last night at The Murray Brothers charity event. Asked him about the passing camp and he said it was awesome. Said it was great having Julius out there. We also asked him about the draft. Asked if he wanted Fowler or Cooper. He said "Cooper of course", lol. He wants more weapons! Anyways, thought I'd mention this. Quote:I ran into Bortles last night at The Murray Brothers charity event. Who do you think will be better? Cooper I'm 3 years or fowler in 3 years?
I think Cooper will, and I think he should be our pick.

Quote:At least he answered your question and not some pr thing like "whoever we get I will be excited about."I completely agree. He really seems like a down to earth, cool guy. We also took a shot of Jim Beam together lol

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
Quote:Who do you think will be better? Cooper I'm 3 years or fowler in 3 years?Could depend on situation and opportunity. Give Cooper a quality QB and he'll put up consistent numbers. Give Fowler and opportunity to constantly attack and he'll just fall into plays.....very aggressive tackler Quote:Who do you think will be better? Cooper I'm 3 years or fowler in 3 years?Cooper for sure, just watching him you could see what happens when an NFL player plays against college kids. Cooper>white. But i still think we gotta take Fowler.
He's doing everything you want to see during an off-season with so many obstacles and rules now set up by the player's union when it comes to off-season programs with the team and staff. Practice makes perfect. The more reps you can get in now could ultimately be the difference we need this year on a 3rd and 10 with 2:00 left in the game to where we can ice the opponent and not give the ball back to them.

I think he could be a few steps behind Aaron Rodgers (Poor Man's Rodgers, if you will) in play style if that makes sense to you guys? His mobility and arm strength is there. I don't see him putting up astronomical numbers where his QB rating is over 100.00 or anything like that. But I think he's capable of being a solid 2:1 or sometimes 3:1 TD/INT ratio type of QB that flirts with 4,000 yards passing each year. As long as Robinson, Lee, and Hurns can stay healthy I think this group will be efficient enough.

Saw JUstin Blackmon at Publix with about 30 cases of water and about 76 Ribeye Steaks and 45 lbs of Shrimp...Said he was going on a Shrimp, Steak, and Water cleanse (aka First Coast Diet aka Surf, Turf, Flood diet). Said he is ready to play and will probably get in Contact with Bortles soon. Also said he'd like to be more involved with community, Jaguars message board, and have a few pints of milk with Ryan O.
Looking forward to his progress.
i wonder why players don't shop at Winn Dixie? They must love those BOGOs.
