Quote:The downside is passing on a guy who potentially could contribute to your team for the next 10 years because of guys who may only on your team for anotjher year or two. You think Odrick and Marks will be gone in a year or two?

Quote:You think Odrick and Marks will be gone in a year or two? Marks only has two years on his deal after 2015 with just 600k of dead money.
Everyone keeps saying that odrick means no Williams but that's just not right.
There are a lot of reasons but you don't pass up on a guy who is considered the best player in the draft, who you can line up anywhere on the line, just because you have a player you just signed on the line. Theoretically its 3 or 4 players on that line at a time and you aren't telling me that Leonard Williams doesn't have the potential to be the best player out of any combination of 3 or 4 you can put together on our team. (Maybe you make an argument for marks, but who says he will be 100%....maybe never)

Quote:Everyone keeps saying that odrick means no Williams but that's just not right. Its very rare for a top 3 pick not to start. Why use that kind of capital for a rotational player? He's not replacing Odrick after they spent first day FA money on him. He can't replace Miller because he's not a NT, same for the LEO position. Marks is the best player on the D-Line injury or not.

I know this is an extreme example, but would you pass on JJ Watt because you had already had guys at those positions? I think I could figure out a way to make that work. Quote:I know this is an extreme example, but would you pass on JJ Watt because you had already had guys at those positions? I think we have to find a happy medium. We have to find a way to get need to meet value.

Quote:So 2018? Yeah I wouldn't worry too much about that. My point is there is no guarantee he is here past next year. If Caldwell and Bradley view him as the best player in the draft like alot of people do, they will take him.
In the early rounds thus far, I would characterize Caldwell as more of a needs based drafter. Joeckle, Bortles, Linder, and the WRs (quick examples) chosen were needs-based in my opinion, where value was reasonably close. Williams and Mariota are less of a need than say, pass rusher. It would not surprise me to see Caldwell trade back if a team desires one of those guys and offers picks. Caldwell has shown that he likes those extra picks.

Marks is the best player on the D-Line injury or not. disagree. not a person in the world even knows how marks will perform or when he will be ready. Williams you could move all around the line. He would get plenty of snaps. you dont pass on a guy who might be better than every player you already have on your defense just because you have guys that MIGHT be more ready to start day 1.

Quote:I think we have to find a happy medium. We have to find a way to get need to meet value. why? you want the absolute most value. period. why take a guy who wont be as good of a player? you make it work however you can to add the most talent that you can. thats really it.

There's no way we can pencil Marks in as the best player on the d-line right now. He's the biggest question mark in that unit with that ACL. Keep in mind that while Odrick was signed to upgrade Red, his best year was actually playing the same position/role as Marks. We very well could be looking at Odrick replacing Marks, with Leonard stepping at that LDE spot to replace Red. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Who's to say that player won't be as good or isn't ranked equal or higher to Williams? That is why we are all guessing. Most people have Williams ranked as the best player in the draft. Assuming the Jaguars do as well, why pass on him for an inferior player? Quote:Marks only has two years on his deal after 2015 with just 600k of dead money. Seems to me like a lot of fans or forgetting, or at least overlooking, the fact Marks tore his ACL in late December, too.

Quote:The latest rumor from Jason Cole of Beacher Report has the Raiders exploring options to move up and take Leonard Williams.I would love to tell the Raiders we are gonna take Williams at 3 and get them to move up one sport for him and we get Fowler jr. Teams have moved up one spot plenty of times in the draft

Bucs trade Goldson to the Redskins
Quote:PFT has confirmed that the Buccaneers have traded Goldson plus a 2016 seventh-round pick to Washington for a 2016 sixth-round pick. The trade was first reported by Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. http://m.nbcsports.com/content/bucs-trade-dashon-goldson-washington I think its safe to say the Bucs will be looking heavily at safeties in the draft after also trading Barron during the season.

The Bucs shock the world and take Landon Collins number 1 overall.
Bucs have been such a crazy team to watch this off season.
