bigger is better in the NFL.  Both as you say can really play.  

 

I'm happy if we get Williams, Fowler, or Beasley --> trade down.  We are in a good spot this year.

When we actually get to the draft, I think that we will find out that this was never really a consideration.  This is a flaw in the whole mock draft concept.  By that I mean that Fowler is being elevated for two reasons 1.) he played in the SEC and 2.) The Jags are only a few miles from gainesville and part of mocking is to create story lines and it fits too easily to put him here. 

 

In reality, as an edge player Fowler has more red flags for stiffness than plusses for explosion.  Even he himself described himself as a little stiff at his pro day.  I think that's why he and shane ray should be dropped though the process SEC status not withstanding. 

 

The one caveat is that he is I believe the youngest edge rusher in the draft and is I believe a full two calendar years younger than vic Beasley.  So there is the possibility that he could have an even higher ceiling than his current level of production.  At the same time, I like Beasley's consistency over the last few years coming back for a fifth year and putting up the same numbers over time.

Fowler Jr said pubicly that he doesnt see any scenario where the Jaguars dont select him third overall because he fits so well with their system????
