Quote:I have become fairly convinced that we will take the 1st RB off the board. Last year we took our QB. The year before, we got our LT. The year prior to that, we took our #1receiver, albeit him a Genie wish (who is finally going to rejoin the team. YES!)

This year, not only do we trade back.. We draft our reliable RB as well. In the 1st round.

I have a hard time with that considering the Offensive line is the leagues worst at protecting the QB (Pass Blocking) according to Football Outsiders and near the worst at run blocking.

Why wouldnt you get better line?

I think GM Dave Caldwell will draft Jay Ajayi RB in the 3rd round (if he is still there)

PFF stated;

Jay Ajayi ran more routes than any other back in the draft class, but still was able to crack the Top 5 in YPRR after leading the draft class in receiving yards.

How many threads are you going to post the same thing in?

My point is all these media mock drafts have the Jaguars taking Fowler Jr, and all of the thread mock drafts have the Jaguars taking a defensive lineman with a few suggesting WR Amari Cooper but I havent come across a single one showing the Jaguars taking a LT despite the Jaguars having the worst Offensive Line.  I guess its because GM Dave Caldwell drafted Luke only two years ago with his first pick but he isnt performing up to expectations and maybe he'll improve this season but shouldnt they draft a LT just incase...

By having Andrus Peat in for a visit, does show that Dave and co. are atleast considering addressing OL early in the draft. Maybe depending on trade back circumstance/ scenerio. I wouldn't want one in the 1st 2 rounds though. Edge rusher, or RB

Allow me to retract a bit. If we can trade back and still draft Beasley, that would be the move. Then take the best avail RB in the second. Maybe go LB, slot receiver/returner or OL with the additional 2nd rounder

If not, let the original epiphany apply

Or it could be because there isn't an offensive lineman in this whole draft worth sniffing at three overall, and since most mockers don't do trades, it stands to reason that they wouldn't mock such a massive reach as Peat or Scherff to the Jaguars simply because there's a perceived need.
