<i>"According to a source very close to an agent involved in the trade talks, the Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles have engaged in multiple discussions to send Browns QB <a class="" href='http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/245314/johnny-manziel'>Johnny Manziel</a>, who is currently in rehab, and draft picks, to the Eagles in exchange for Eagles QB <a class="" href='http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/108591/sam-bradford'>Sam Bradford</a>, who was recently acquired via trade from the <a class="" href='http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/st-louis-rams'>St. Louis Rams</a>. According to our source, both sides are very motivated to get a deal done, with each side valuing the other’s QB more than the QB currently on their rosters."</i>

If there is any truth to this, it's gonna wreck whatever confidence Bradford has left. Poor guy, you gotta just the guy at this point.

Apparently the Eagles are going to do whatever they can to get a top 2-4 pick.

I feel like the Jaguars won't hesitate to pull the trigger on a trade. The Jags need talent all around and if the Eagles throw their entire draft at them for Mariota the Jaguars can probably go into this season expecting to be perennial playoff contenders NEXT season

RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

Got to be the entire draft plus some of next years picks maybe one and two

This draft is going to be incomprehensible.

Where there is smoke, there's fire. Lol to all the people who think Bradford will be the starting QB on the Eagles opening day roster.

Thing is if he acquires Manziel + picks, Chip is only that much closer to getting to Mariota, who he really wants.

It's April 7th. You're a week late.

The Browns are desperate and already tried once this offseason to trade for Bradford. Chip will probably be more willing as long as he ends up with at least the #12 overall. Bare minimum.

Except we're making the playoffs this year...

Yeah, but from reading the story, there's only one problem, and it's a very big problem: the Browns are not willing to trade away their first round pick.

My thing is what does Manziel have to do with the Eagles trading up for Mariota?

If they acquire the young QB in Manziel, why then trade multiple picks for a guy with one less season than Manziel?

If the goal is to deal Manziel, what trade value would he have at this point?

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

I think Manziel is basically done...Chip says give me 12 and I'll take the headache away so.yall ain't got.worry about it.

That eagles / browns deal seems to make sense.  I just don't see Bradford in a up-tempo offense.  Dude can barely stay healthy for 50 plays per game so how is he going to take 20 more snaps per game as an eagle.  on the other hand, Manziel is lost in a conventional offense and may be better off moving around and improvising if necessary.

I don't trust either QB but it seems like a better fit for both.

Which doesn't make much sense considering they already offered the 19th overall for Bradford to the Ram's about a month ago.

After last season, I thought I was wrong about Chip Kelly flaming out quickly as a HC. After this offseason, I'm flip-flopping; the eagles are a dumpster fire just waiting to happen. It's going to be epic when it does too, because eagles fans are some of the worst.

Also, if I'm the tack's GM, I'd be blowing as much smoke about drafting a QB as possible. They are the ones that are going to have to decide between drafting Mariota and hoping he's the guy, or trading out and hoping he's a bust.

If this thing with the browns does go down, I would imagine it comes with the idea of trading Johnny Boozeball and a few draft picks to the tacks for Mariota. Either way, I don't think the Jags are in play for trading down at 3 for someone who wants Mariota, because he's going to be drafted at 2. I don't see the tacks just passing on a QB without being persuaded to do so; they're either going to draft him or trade with someone who will. I'll be absolutely shocked if they just straight up pass on him and draft Leonard Williams.

They could also just keep 12 and cut Manziel... There goes the headache.

Then you also still have to pay him since rookie contracts are fully guaranteed. Trading him gets you off the hook financially.

As Kharnn pointed out there is the financial angle and also the angle that you get something for him…rather than outright cutting him and suffering all the backlash of throwing away a 1st round draft pick after 1 season

<p style="background-color:transparent;">Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reports the Eagles are not interested in trading for Johnny Manziel.

A rumor hit the internets earlier this week that had the Eagles and Browns talking about a deal that would send Manziel plus draft picks to Philadelphia for Sam Bradford. Cole doesn't deny that the two teams have been talking, but says the discussions have centered around the Eagles wanting to acquire the Browns' first-round picks in an effort to move up in the draft for Marcus Mariota.
