The Browns are looking to trade up for Mariota

#1

Where there's smoke there's fire, and there's been enough smoke around the Browns trading up for Mariota rumor, it makes sense considering one of their QB's is Josh McCown and the other is in rehab. Here's the trade offer, the Browns trade Alex Mack (who's certainly opting out of his contact next season and publicly praised the Jags organization), the 12th and 19th picks to move up 9 slots to 3, would you take it?

<p style="background-color:transparent;">CBS Sports' Dane Brugler notes that he would not be surprised if the Browns trade up for Oregon QB Marcus Mariota.

"The least surprising move on draft day In my opinion? If the Browns trade up for QB Marcus Mariota. Priority No. 1 for the franchise is finding a QB," Brugler tweeted. Mariota admitted back in February that he'd love to be reunited with his old quarterback coach, Kevin O'Connell, who worked with him in anticipation of the combine. O'Connell, who is now the quarterback's coach for the Cleveland Browns, was also Johnny Manziels' pre-draft tutor as well.

I'd need to know how Mack is recovering from his injury, plus his contract would need to be redone, so that we don't lose him after a year or whatever.

It would be nice to get those two first round selections for Mariota. But the tacks may have the upperhand unfortunately just one slot in front of us. They don't have a solid answer at QB either. And they didn't invest or give up a lot when they installed Mettenberger last year into the starting line-up. Whisenhunt has the key in his hand though. He could bluff and bait Cleveland into that slot and basically tell their front office "We're willing to suffer another year with Mettenberger in exchange for X, Y, and Z" or he just might pull the trigger on him for their team.

But if we can pull it off and get Cleveland to jump up. That would be exceptionally awesome of Caldwell. We could bolster our offense and defense with two decent players out of the top twenty. Get a guy like Dupree at OLB and maybe a WR like Parker or RB like Gurley or Gordon for sure with those selections.

I'd take this deal in a heartbeat

Two firsts and the best center in the game? If Mack checks out health-wise and is willing to extend his contract, I'd take that deal.

(using Draftsite.com)

Give up pick 3 (say Fowler)

for C Alex Mack, Leo Shane Ray, and WR DeVante Parker

I would take that deal.

My gut says Titan make their pick, as they don't get the "big boatload of picks offer" needed to move out of the spot.

I would rather take 2016 1st rounder instead of the 19th pick. Next years pick most likely will be a top 10 selection.

Idk why you would think they trade with us

As per the usual, we are one spot out of a big pay day.

if our owner or GM had a better sounding last name.... like a better football name.. this wouldnt be happening.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Well, considering Goodell is a big supporter of Haslem, that just shows where his head is.
