A couple of nice plays that I grabbed quickly of Beasley:

Trade down withe the Jets to #6. This is assuming the tacks don't trade down and instead take Williams. Or the Jets are willing to trade up for Williams if the QBs are both gone by our pick.

The two QBs and Williams go 1-3.

Oakland at 4 is taking a WR.

That leaves either Fowler or Beasley (or both) at 6. We get one of the two guys who fit our need at LEO, and end up with at least an extra 2nd round pick.

i could go find a couple nice plays from gabbert.... or harvey. i hate when people put up a few plays or even a highlight video. you can make the case for almost anyone like that.

Except Reggie Williams. Even his 'highlights' showed nothing. What a stupid pick.

maybe the fact that its only 44 seconds long is the alarming factor... hahahahaha

LOL.  What?  I'm not "making a case."  I just posted a couple of gifs relevant to the thread. I'm no big proponent of Beasley.

Hate all you want  -- but you're making something out of nothing.  Relax.

The point was to post a couple of gifs that showed Beasley making a good play.  I did that.

You got your panties twisted.  Sorry.  You gonna' be able to get over it and move on now?

It's a message board where we talk about football players a lot.  So -  I can see now that watching those players actually do the things we are discussing is completely pointless and irrelevant.  My bad.  What was I thinking?

Thats best case scenario for us, extra pick plus the guy we want

I do think Beasley is the perfect LEO wherein I give him the edge over Fowler, but there's two things I like about Fowler a little bit more. One is that he's so physically dominating that when he hits the QB, the QB is engulfed and goes down. Beasley has to work a bit at taking the QB down. Two is that at his Pro Day, Fowler actually posted a better 10-yard split than what Beasley posted at the combine. This doesn't mean he's more athletic as Beasley ran away with the better numbers at every other drill, but the 10-yard split is probably the single most important stat, and it appears that Fowler's first step is just as quick which is impressive as heck given their size difference.

Force me to choose and I'm taking Vic, but I certainly won't cry if they choose Fowler instead.

Every year we are learning that it's more and more clear the order goes like this: 3 cone > broad jump > vertical jump > 10 yard >>> bench > 40 yard/shuttles

Isn't a smaller player going to have a big advantage in all the agility and speed drills?

When you're comparing two prospects of the same position you're not often going to have a huge disparity in height and weight. In terms of Fowler and Beasley, there isn't enough difference in size to give one a big advantage over the other.

20 lbs isn't that big of a difference to you?
Crab Cakes and Football! That's what Jacksonville does!

In terms of these athletes? No. Vic is a better athlete and the tape/combine show it. It's not really discrediting Fowler, Beasley is a better athlete than most of the edge guys.

Plus if my memory serves me right the difference between the two is 15 pounds. Not 20.
