Jaguars Forum Mock Draft Discussion

We can 86 this idea if that's what the general consensus wants to do. I didn't bother to review Kotite's rules before I whipped this thing together.

Let me know.

HIGH SCORE,  while either way is fine,  my gut feeling is this will run more smoothly without trades.  One advantage to no trades is we will get to see what a Mock Draft will look like going into the NFL Draft with the current drafting order.

Thank you for all your efforts today.   Under a difficult circumstance,  you did a tremendous job in getting this running.

Also, while Kotite isn't currently here,  I appreciate his efforts in getting a list of people set up to participate and a set of logistics.

Spaz... So cool.

I was in the process of making a trade and then people said there were no trades in this mock draft. So I stopped the process.

Quote:I would say go with no trades, it would move much faster, just my opinion. Everyone will be waiting for trade offers when its their pick

If for discussion sake that as Jags GM I would have received a good trade offer with the Redskins and Dante Fowler Jr.  didn't last to pick # 5,  Vic Beasley is the player I would have selected.   I  wanted to end up with either Leonard Williams,  Fowler,  or Beasley with the pick # 3 draft resource.

I think the Jags could drop down to 6 or 7 and still end up with Williams Fowler or Beasley.

Cooper, White and a tackle could easily be taken ahead of one of the 3.

in that situation i 100% would have expected a trade out.

Mariota was an option, but i believe the jets plan to stick with geno at least another year and bowles would prefer to have another weapon on defense.

chan gailey and his semi spread system potentially will work well with geno who is used to running it at WVU and keep in mind that fitzpatrick had his best season i believe in 2012 working under chan gailey.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Kevin White is off the board at number seven. With Chicago tied to Cutler for the next couple seasons, they need to do their best to surround him with weapons. White has the highest upside of any WR in the draft and with the best pass rushers already taken, this pick was a no brainer.

While there was a realistic possibility one of the 3 players would have been available at # 6 or # 7,  the trade compensation to go that far down would have probably exceeded the trade resources that we would have had in this mock draft if trading was part of the process.

My overall take on the Jags situation is that Dave Caldwell and Gus Bradley have improved the talent noticeably.  Yet,  one thing the team lacks at least on Defense is a true impact player who will enter the season relatively healthy.   An impact player in the Front seven would make everyone on the Defense better.

I got a dinner to go to in a couple hours. Anyone want to be in charge of messaging the teams who are up to pick?
