Who is around that wants to pick for BritishJag?

Its going to stall at some point, as it doesn't appear many of the GMs are around.

its 1016 pm there right now. if he gets swapped for a later pick its gonna stall no matter what. i say we give him a little while.

we started immediately so no one got a chance to send in their picks in case they wouldnt be available....

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

For sure,  the Giants need major help on their Offensive Line.

It will be interesting to see what position Brandon Scherff primarily plays as a rookie and what his long term future position will be.   He seems ideal as a Guard.

I have a player in mind for the Jags pick in Round 2,  though so much depends on what happens up until pick # 36.   It wouldn't surprise me if you took this player for the Raiders,  if he lasts to that point.

The rumors of the Rams moving to Los Angeles would heat up that much more.

if you asked me last year i would have said that mariota might be the best qb in the draft, after watching him last season though.... i saw limited upside and changed my mind. some throws were real wobblers. idk if its lack of arm strength or mechanics.

i still think he potentially could be better than jameis, im on record talking about how i think jameis lacks in a lot of areas.

the thing about mariota and why specifically i didnt draft him for the jets, is that i dont think he is really that much better or will be that much better than geno. same thing with jameis. even the same thing with teddy.

i think mariota with a clean slate will take a lot less flack than geno has taken but those guys honestly all seem close in overall talent level.

im leaving bortles out of the equation because anything i say about him is probably going to sound biased and includes the upside we have already seen in him.

The way the mock draft shaped up when the Jets were on the clock,  it was a difficult choice.

One major concern I would have had in drafting Marcus Mariota if in your position is the media in the New York market.  Mariota probably would be better off going to a team that has less intense media scrutiny.   He doesn't seem like the type of player that would be a good fit as a QB in the NY Metropolitan area.   That much more with the difficult transition he would have to make to a more conventional Offense.   I certainly respect your decision to bypass him with pick # 6.

I think Foles will really shock some people this year.  I think the Rams needed that number 1 WR to help him out as they already have one of the better defense and I think Tre Mason will be one of the better backs in the league this year.  Austin could explode in the middle of the field this year also if the Rams have that number 1 WR to pull the safety over to help out.

I was considering going a different direction for a minute or two, but Mariota made too much sense even with Foles in place.  Given this scenario, he could compete for the starting job or learn behind a veteran.
