WTH?!? Adrian Peterson

Quote:I said into his his 30s.Dorsett started sharing carries with Herschel Walker in the 86 season....the year in which he was 32 years old. So his numbers dropped, or as one poster stated "fell off a cliff". That was the reason. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:He missed all of last year so you can call him 29 and he is by far still the best running back in the league. yeah I'm crazy hughMissing a year at this point in his career doesn't magically make him fresher for the long haul. It actually makes him more susceptible to injury. Keep trying. He can't back the clock up any more than you or I can. He's still 30. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

That was the reason. If you consider 1,000+ yards in 13 games "falling off a cliff", then this conversation is pointless. I considered Tony Dorsett productive into his 30s and think Peterson can be, too. Quote:Why would you want someone on the decline with a bloated contract in a year when the draft is offering us plenty of talent that could be productive for more than a year or two at a fraction of the cost without costing this team a single draft pick. "Report: Minnesota sets terms for Peterson in trade" "ESPN's Adam Caplan reports the Vikings are looking for a first-round draft pick and "more compensation," likely a starting cornerback, in exchange for Adrian Peterson." http://jax.247sports.com/Bolt/Minnesota-...n-36851985

I was explaining why his numbers dipped....someone else suggested it was him falling. I stated it was becase he shared the load with Walker. Quote:Feel free to point out where I said he's "on the decline."The job at this point as been very mediocre. What did we get out of a second round pick his first year? Cyprien a very mediocre safety. What am I thinking right ![]() ![]()

My point was always that, even if Peterson regresses, he should still be productive for a couple years and not fall off a cliff.
Quote:"Report: Minnesota sets terms for Peterson in trade" I don't see any team willing to do that. Especially with how deep this years RB class is. Vikings have the upper hand and it's clear, play for us or sit.

Especially with how deep this years RB class is.thats what I am gathering too...It looks like they are saying if you want out some team will have to pay out the rear so it will be good for us, and if they don't we still got ya so it will be good for us...either way the team wins
APs father did mention before he would like to start over and for a contender. Jags don't quite fit that catagory yet , and the Vikings trade wish is far to much . the oldest player the jags will go for in free agency is 27 yrs old otherwise it will be the draft . This draft will be very interesting, can't wait.
Quote:Poz has a lot shorter distance to fall off than Peterson, and he plays at a position where players can still be effective beyond the age of 30. Peterson does not. Everyone knows the general expectation for a running back's career. Great points. One met with gnashing teeth, and the other with drool. But there could be more than one reason for that.

I was ref. to what Rico had said. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Offer them Gratz and the #36. I feel that AP is among the top five RBs in league history, but I'm not offering anything more than this.

Quote:I said into his his 30s. He could. He may not. I think the point is risk/reward. That is a lot of money to pay someone when history, the odds overall, point to the risk out waying the reward. Quote:"Report: Minnesota sets terms for Peterson in trade" Lol.
Quote:"Report: Minnesota sets terms for Peterson in trade" They are just making it impossible for him to see a trade and so he stays. There's no way anyone would give this up for him and his contract (ok,ok maybe Dallas and jerrys great ownership.....). He's going to have to be willing to miss out on bonuses and 12 mil to possibly see a real trade... GO JAGS!!
Let's Get Em!!!! Go Jags!

Quote:"Report: Minnesota sets terms for Peterson in trade" That kind of expectation is laughable, except if you're a wannabe GM like the "genius" mvp. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:I don't see any team willing to do that. Especially with how deep this years RB class is. I'm pretty sure several people have made that same point in this thread. They're under zero pressure to trade Peterson, so they can set the bar as high as they want. If someone wants to pay it, great. If not, he's got 2 options. Play or sit. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Rumors are circling:
Quote:The source said if the Vikings want to trade Peterson, they never will have more leverage than during the April 30-May 2 draft. The source said Minnesota could be able to entice a team once Melvin Gordon and Todd Gurley, the two top backs in the draft, are off the board. http://www.twincities.com/sports/ci_27951734/vikings-now-or-never-adrian-peterson-trade-source
