Leonard Williams questionable pass rushing skills?
|
Quote:"Big Draft", as if that's a real phrase, lol.Eric Stoner (the popular draftnik that used to post here a lot til the dregs ran him off), came up with it this year. At least he was the first one to do so that I saw. Now I see it all the time. It's a good phrase to describe the handful of advantaged draftniks that are fortunate enough to get camera time and major website articles. Also, they are the guys that the majority of the casual fans see a lot so their viewpoints are often elevated a lot more than they should be. The biggest (maybe only) advantage they have is that they do usually have actual team/insider sources so they hear more stuff. Obviously that is sometimes the truth and sometimes smoke. I'd love to hear this from these draft experts:
What are the reasons that Williams will not become a good pass rusher? What's he lacking? And when you answer that, answer this: Does a 20 year old have no chance of improving in those areas?

Got it. I was going to ask bill gates a few questions about my PC but I guess this 22 year old guy who owns a laptop will probably know a little more than him.

They retweet each other to gain traffic/followers, peddle their draft guides from $3.50 - $7 each (discounted for the first x number of retweets/purchases), and there's even a draft academy where you too! can learn TwitterScoutTM. There are credible sources out there. But even with the credible ones among the self-proclaimed "experts", you still must take them with a grain of salt. After all, even among the TwitterScoutTM idols like Greg Cosell, you can get this type of analysis... https://twitter.com/jasonrmcintyre/statu...7308825601 <div>Jason McIntyre<span>Verified account</span><span style="color:rgb(177,187,195);">@jasonrmcintyre</span> </div> <p style="font-size:28px;font-family:Arial, sans-serif;color:rgb(41,47,51);">For Greg Cosell groupies: He liked Logan Thomas > Cam ... At this point, teams pretty much have their boards in place, and they're only focused on fine tuning things. I'm sure this team has a good feel for what Williams can or can't do. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:Already does.Actually funny that you all are trying to bash someone for using a popular new phrase, while completely ignoring a person who actually did make up a stupid new phrase. Not even good job good effort on that.

Here's something that came up in a conversation I had recently: Leonard Williams is Mario Williams.
Much like that draft where there were two Quarterbacks available (and a dynamic Running Back, but all analogies fail at some point) and a versatile, yet non-shiny DL and the DL turns out to be the better long-term player. Well what if Williams turns out like, well Williams? Now, Leonard has better stats than Mario did coming out of college, and I feel like they are really different players, but the more that I think about this comparison, I ask myself the question: Would I rather have Mario Williams over Von Miller (Beasely) or Terrell Suggs (Fowler)? To be honest, I haven't come up with an answer just yet but the question does intrigue me.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say! Quote:Here's something that came up in a conversation I had recently: Leonard Williams is Mario Williams. Mario Williams had freakish measurables. He was a better propect than Leonard. Quote:Here's something that came up in a conversation I had recently: Leonard Williams is Mario Williams. Suggs is the best player on that list. Has the biggest impact on the game to me. If the three guys you're alluding to turn out to be just the same as those three than I believe I'd say give me fowler but there really isn't much disparity between the three at that point. But since we can't see the future, give me the physical monster in Leonard with more potential to dominate.

I will give you that Mario is a better athlete, especially in light of his Combine performance, but Leonard outproduced him by a pretty big margin in my view..

at #3 I don't want any project players selected. If he's not a pass rusher you can't justify taking him at #3, I'd rather find an impact player somewhere else then draft a run stopping DT with the 3rd overall pick.

We aren't taking Danny Shelton so you're ok. Leonard Williams dawg! |
