If Humphries had longer arms, I would feel more confident that he can be more than a middle of the pack NFL starting LT. its definitely andrus peat for me. he has the talent and the physical ability. just comes down to if he can get it together in his head with some better coaching to become consistent like you said. hes a monster. actually reminds me a lot of eugene monroe.

Quote:No I wasn't, Gregory schooled him throughout the entirety...even overpowering him repeatedly despite strength being the supposed weak part of Gregory's game and strongest part of Flowers'.hahahahaha Quote:its definitely andrus peat for me. he has the talent and the physical ability. just comes down to if he can get it together in his head with some better coaching to become consistent like you said. hes a monster. Thanks for your input. The same to everyone who replied. Regarding what you touched on in terms of coaching, one of my concerns is that despite Stanford using a Pro Style Offense and HC David Shaw having an NFL background, Andrus Peat is still too inconsistent. Like you mentioned, the talent/ physical ability is there. However, this is a situation in which the player probably should have stayed in school another season. I'm saying this even though I'm currently projecting him to the St. Louis Rams with pick # 10. Moving forward, Andrus Peat needs an Offensive Line Coach that not only can help him continue to improve technically, he needs someone who will push the right buttons with Peat. With the other 3 Offensive Tackles in this discussion, I'm confident that they will have the focus and drive to play close to their potential if they can remain relatively healthy.
To answer D6, I haven't watched Clemmings enough to give my opinion on him...but Peat > Humphries > Flowers would be my rank of the other 3.

I'm not surprised that the opinions on this question vary in a significant manner. Related to the question I asked, there are some NFL scouts and evaluators that now have Jake Fisher in the mix with one or more of the other 4 Offensive Tackles. In a recent Ourlads Mock Draft, they have Fisher going to Chip Kelly's Eagles with pick # 20. Quote:Thanks, KYjaggy.I love FIsher. He would be 2nd OT for me. Quote:I love FIsher. He would be 2nd OT for me. Do you think Jake Fisher would be a better fit at LT or at RT? Regarding the Eagles projection I mentioned above, being that they have Jason Peters at LT and Lane Johnson at RT, if they did draft Fisher, I have no idea what their plans would be. Possibly another Chip Kelly trade? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:How about fit for the Jags zone blocking scheme? Even bigger gap for Peat and Humphries over Flowers in ZBS to me. Quote:Do you think Jake Fisher would be a better fit at LT or at RT?Fisher is pure LT. Quote:Do you think Jake Fisher would be a better fit at LT or at RT?If you believe La'el Collins can play LT then you have to have him #1 too IMO. I don't know that I think he can, but plenty of guys like Josh Norris believe he could do it well.

I think the one thing these past couple of drafts have made me change on the OL picks is I'd rather have the tenacity guy (Lewan) over the softer more technical guys (Joekel//Matthews)
Quote:No I wasn't, Gregory schooled him throughout the entirety...even overpowering him repeatedly despite strength being the supposed weak part of Gregory's game and strongest part of Flowers'. If by "entirety" you mean the 10 plays he lined up against Flowers then sure. And if by "schooled" you mean didn't register a single tick on the stat sheet against him, then you have another point. Of all games to criticize someone over, and then say its the worst cutup that you have ever seen, you chose this game? He grades out no worse than an A or A- that game. At least we agree about Collins being the #1 tackle.

Quote:makes you wonder if he really watches "tape" as much as he says he does I am sure he does. At least, it seems like he does. I think this is just a case of imprinting where his first exposure to Flowers was negative for whatever reason and now everything is negative.

I think this is just a case of imprinting where his first exposure to Flowers was negative for whatever reason and now everything is negative. I listened to Greg Cosell in Ross Tucker last week where he said Erik Flowers could not block Gregory all game. I watched the Miami v. Nebraska cutups expecting to see that all game. Other than a play where Gregory destroyed Flowers and barely missed a sack and a couple others where the OG bailed out Flowers, it wasn't terrible.
