2015 Mock Drafts

There is this rumor going around that the Giants want to move up and take Leonard Williams and this mock draft explores that opportunity.

Screw the NFL for moving the draft back again this year. It was bad when they did it last year, but this year is too much. These mock drafts have gotten to the point where I don't think there's any scenario that can happen that we haven't talked about already.
And if we do trade back and take a RB coming off a torn knee in the top 10, I think I might legitimately black out from how angry I'll be.

Quote:And if we do trade back and take a RB coming off a torn knee in the top 10, I think I might legitimately black out from how angry I'll be.As fans, we really shouldn't worry about his knee. No team is going to take him top 10 if there's any issues with it. I'd be a little confused if we took him at 3 though.
Quote:And if we do trade back and take a RB coming off a torn knee in the top 10, I think I might legitimately black out from how angry I'll be.He's a top ten player easily. And the knee seems to check out fine right now, if needed we could manufacture a rushing game with the guys we have till he's 110%
Round 1 Pick 3: Leonard Williams, DT/DE, Southern California (A+) - BPA. Move him around the line, make our line one of the best in the league.
Round 2 Pick 17 (K.C.): Shaq Thompson, OLB/SS, Washington (A) - All-round ahtlete, Caldwell has shown he isn't afraid to go after kids like this (DRob) and I think Gus could use him well. Round 3 Pick 3: Duke Johnson, RB, Miami (Fla.) (A) - Solid runner in the 3rd, He'd be expected to split reps with DRob in his rookie season. Round 3 Pick 16 (K.C.): Anthony Chickillo, DE, Miami (Fla.) (B-) - Chickillo really impressed me and the East/West shrine game. STACK THAT LINE! Round 4 Pick 4: Jacoby Glenn, CB/FS, UCF (D+) - Another versatile player, make him compete and push all the guys in the backfield. Round 4 Pick 19 (K.C.): Jeff Heuerman, TE, Ohio State (A+) - Lewis will be gone after 2015, don't wait until then to draft his replacement. Huerman wouldn't see the field much in his first year unless Lewis or Thomas get injured. Round 5 Pick 3: Sean Mannion, QB, Oregon State (B+) - Henne isn't going to be on the Jags after 2015, Mannion can be third on the depth chart in his rookie year then become Bortles backup in 2016. Round 6 Pick 4: Vince Mayle, WR, Washington State (A+) - I didn't know much about the final guys so I based the last 3 off google but Mayle looks like a big strong WR. Former basketball player and pretty fast for his size. Round 7 Pick 9 (NYG): Robert Myers, OG/OT, Tennessee State (D+) - Line depth in the 7th. Round 7 Pick 28 (NYG): Conner Neighbors, FB, LSU (B ) - I'm not sure going into the season without a fullback is a great idea. Maybe they want Gerhart to do it but they won't be paying him after 2015 if they consider him a fullback so grab one now.
The following is the 1st Round of the Mock Draft I'm working on. My plan is to get through 3 Rounds in the next few days. I'm also including the first 3 picks of Round 2, prior to the Jaguars pick. While I already decided on who the Mock Draft pick for the Jaguars would be, barring new information or trades, any input on who you would like the pick to be based on the first 35 picks would be more than welcome. The same with any overall input.

I don't see Minny grabbing a WR in round 1 with Charles Johnson and Wallace and likely some optimism for Patterson. For Jags, maybe Kendricks or Agholor?

The same with any overall input. In this situation 2 names that immediately jump out to me are Jay Ajayi and Phillip Dorsett...give Blake a thumper back or a deep threat. Other names that I'd like: Carl Davis/ Eric Kendricks Flavor of the month at that pick: Damarious Randall We have Leo/Otto answered with the Fowler pick so my 2nd round prospect of P.Smith wouldnt make too much sense. Quote:Ray will drop with him being out for 5 months due to surgery. Thanks for your input. I heard on NFL Sirius Radio last night that Gil Brandt mention the possibility that Shane Ray might need surgery. I'm probably going to adjust the Mock Draft as a result. Even if he decides not to have surgery, the injury could easily lead him dropping significantly, if not more. The Vikings pick came down to DeVante Parker and Trae Waynes. My gut feeling is they have major concerns about C. Patterson and that they feel they need a true # 1 WR. Being that Parker has extensive experience / chemistry with Teddy Bridgewater, at the very least I think he will be a major consideration for them. Eric Kendricks was my runner up choice for the Jaguars with pick # 36. He would seem to be a great fit for them. As Kendricks transitions to the NFL, he should be a force on Special Teams.
My first full first round mock. I'm completely unsure on who the Jags will draft so I went a little leftfield and slotted them with Amari Cooper. I think Gurley could go anywhere from #3 to #40 so I ended up slotting him in the middle at 24.

As it turned out, I went with Tevin Coleman with the Jaguars pick. I think there's a good chance the Jaguars will take a RB in Round 2 or 3. Their interest in DeMarco Murray illustrates that the team brass believes a major addition at the position is needed. Damarious Russell is a wildcard. His stock seems to have been going up. Through the middle of Round 2, I haven't picked him for any team. Yet, I can envision him going to the Jags or other teams looking for Safety help in Round 2. Carl Davis improved his stock at the Senior Bowl. Overall though, I'm at least somewhat skeptical that he's going to be consistent enough and providing enough of a pass rush.
Quote: Yea Davis isn't your pass rushing DT his is a big Ox run stuffer and I think would take Roy Miller spot day 1... Quote:My first full first round mock. I think Gurley could go anywhere from #3 to #40 so I ended up slotting him in the middle at 24. If this happened, the Falcons and Rams would jump for joy. T.J. Clemmings has loads of upside potential. The question they would need to ask if they get pick # 17 is can they risk trading down another few spots and still get him? While the Steelers certainly need edge rush help, I'm not sure if Shaq Thompson has enough size to be the edge setting type they prefer at the OLB position. Ty Sambrailo would be a great scheme fit if the Broncos as expected use Gary Kubiak's zone blocking scheme. If I was in their position, I would risk trading down, with the realistic hope of landing in him Round 2. Quote:Yea Davis isn't your pass rushing DT his is a big Ox run stuffer and I think would take Roy Miller spot day 1... One thing for sure, the Jaguars need a deep DT rotation. Especially, with the injury situation at DT and the first two games likely being in hot and humid conditions. If Carl Davis builds off what he accomplished in Mobile, that would turn out to be a very good pick. There's potential reward but plenty of risk. It will be interesting to see if a team is willing to pull the trigger on him in the top 40. The same with Jordan Phillips. We show less advertisements to registered users. It's not a bad move, but I think DB may be more of a need. But if Parker is their highest rated guy on their board, that probably works. They are about "average" on every position across the board so they can go a few different ways. Quote:Ray probably doesn't fall out of the first, but I can see him falling to the 20s. If I was putting together a Mock Draft on what I would if in the various teams positions, Trae Waynes would be my pick. But I don't think the Vikings feel they have a # 1 WR type on their roster and want to put Teddy Bridgewater in a much better position than was the case in his rookie season. Hence, my gut feeling is they would take DeVante Parker over Waynes if the choice comes down to the two of them. The needs that come to mind for the Vikings are a # 1 WR, LG, long term upgrade at LDE/ DE depth, LB, CB, and SS. Based on the first 10 picks of my mock draft, other options I think the Vikings will consider with pick # 11 if they keep the pick are La' el Collins, Bud Dupree, and Landon Collins. With RB becoming the # 1 need if they decide to trade Adrian Peterson. Todd Gurley probably will be in play for them with pick # 11, if available, and if Peterson is traded before the pick is made. Gurley or Gordon does make sense at 11 if they trade AP. It's sounding like they are asking too much though, but hard to say. |
