Ereck Flowers

Quote:I could see Flowers going as high as 9 to the Giants. As an OT or as a OG. Personally I don't see Flowers as a OT on either side. While I do believe he could be similar to a D.J. Fluker who is not very athletic but huge and long, I feel Flowers best position would be to slide inside to either guard spot and be a road grader. I feel the same way about Scherff. Flowers lack of athleticism and body stiffness gives me concern as a tackle. If you remember the same was said about Fluker and while he has been a solid pro he definitely struggles against the athletic pass rushers of the League.

Flowers, Duke Johnson, Dorsett, Hurns, Walford, Linder. Al Golden should be fired.

Oh I think we knew Flowers at 9 to the Giants was probable if Scherff went earlier. I just think it was quite possibly the worst pick of the first round.
Former Giants RG Chris Snee offered his thoughts about Ereck Flowers in the following NY Post article. This was before the recent injury to Giants LT Will Beatty that will keep him sidelined for several months. Snee's take as a former NFL Offensive Lineman is interesting and informative. It also helps illustrate that there are differences of opinions on players, which is reflected in this thread:
