Just curious what everybody thinks. There was a quick discussion on NFL Network, where he would go if he had not torn his ACL. They say top 5. I tend to agree and he may not go much later than that anyway.

Top 10, for sure. I'm iffy on naming any running back to the top 3, although Gurley is certainly one of the most talented backs in years.

After seeing how aggressive the Jaguars were in trying to sign Cowboys UFA RB Demarco Murray,  at the very least Todd Gurley would very likely would have been a strong consideration with pick # 3 if not for the torn ACL.  

 

If the Jaguars would have passed on Gurley,   the Raiders,  Jets,  or Falcons would probably have drafted him if the draft order didn't change via a trade.

While I previously thought the Jaguars offer to Demarco Murray was higher than Dave Caldwell indicated in his response,   I still believe the Jaguars had major interest in Murray at what Caldwell considered the right price.   To the point that Todd Gurley w/o a torn ACL would have been at least one of the top 5 possibilities with pick # 3.    There's still an outside chance he might be.

If he was healthy and things didnt happen like they have he would no doubt be a top 10 and at that point I could still see him in play for top 3 as well.

 

I still wouldnt be too shocked to see him still go top 10 now too.

I try not to listen to too many rumors near the draft but Daniel Jeremiah seems pretty certain he goes in the top 10 anyway. And I have seen mocks with him as early as 6 to the Jets.

 

If not for the injury, he would definitely be a possibility at 3.

Gurley is this year's Clowney in the sense that as the draft comes closer and closer, his injury becomes less and less important to the NFL media.

I wouldn't complain about that if it happened. Having a stud workhorse RB + a good defense to help carry your team while a young QB continues his development is a good thing.
