While my first thoughts for the #36 pick revolve around RBs, the Jaguars might be looking at other positions. Caldwell made it clear that this draft is deep in RBs with guys he likes available as late as the 5th round. I'd hope he wouldn't wait beyond round three, but it sounds like he'll at least look at other second round options. With that in mind, we do need a FS, and I'm looking at Eric Rowe to be the best one available with good value early in round two. There was talk of him potentially being a first rounder.

If they think he can be the FS of the future then he's well worth pick 36.  FS is a real important part of this defense and we need an upgrade, as we all know.

 

I don't know a lot about Rowe but I'm all for a FS at pick 36 if the value fits.

 

It would be hard for me to pass on Coleman if he was there at 36 though.  He was the RB I wanted most after Gurley.

On Eric Rowe: "Eric Rowe is a really fun conversation. I've talked to a lot of teams about him and teams are really split. I happen to like him a lot and I've got him in my top 50. About half the league thinks he's a third round pick. The team's that like him like I do, then they go to another level and say 'If he's a top 40 or 50 pick, is he a corner or a safety and where is the value?' The way I look at Eric Rowe in today's pass first league is I don't care if you call him a corner or a safety. If he can do one job and do it well, matching up with a Kelvin Benjamin one week oustide and a Rob Gronkowski next week on the inside. If he can do that one job, he's got a completely different value, which for me would be somewhere late first round. I'm not convinced he can do that one job, but that's a conversation. Even if he can't cover both those guys back-to-back weeks, I feel very strongly he's a second round corner, he's got length, he can play safety which he played before. There's no way he gets out of the second round and if he went early in that second round, it wouldn't surprise me at all."

I came up with Rowe for the best choice at #36 for us also.  Immediate starter at FS.

 

RB can wait until 3rd or 4th at this point.  Tevin Coleman is not worth #36, and Abdullah isn't either.

Round 4 - RB Buck Allen or T.J. Yeldon (if still available)

I agree... but we have to have SOME faith that the addition of Thomas and the progression of other players aides that.
