Jaguars select fowler
|
I saw someone compare him to Ryan Kerrigan. Kerrigan has 38 career sacks in four seasons. 7.5, 8.5, 8.5 and 13.5. I think we would all be happy with that.
If he could reach that number he would be second all-time in team history!!

Quote:Guys like Yo Boy are not real fans. They just want what they want and if they don't do what they want they complain. You have no control over what the team does and your not working for the Jaguars for a reason. Sit down. For whatever reason there are people that just enjoy complaining about what a sports team does. Call it trolling, maybe they enjoy misery. I don't get it. I wanted Cooper but I am good with Fowler. I have a feeling he will be a fan favorite here.

Fowler even told us weeks ago Jaguars wanted him and he would be surprised if we did not select him. Transparent, have a plan, they are what you want in a GM and Head Coach. Quote:actually, and Caldwell kinda said this in his interview last night, it came down between Amari Cooper and Dante Fowler, but Fowler was a bigger need so they took him.http://www.jaguars.com/media-gallery/vid...50af0fd0e2 in that presser he never says anything about Cooper. He says "theres 3 or 4 guys" "difference is marginal" "comes down to need" He also mentions Williams is a great player but Odrick is similar.... "Fowler was the pick last Friday"
I said it would be Cooper, Fowler or Williams. I was good with any. I don't see how you can judge a draft after ONE pick anyway. Let's see where the rest of the chips fall.

Quote:http://www.jaguars.com/media-gallery/vid...50af0fd0e2i watched a video last night, i thought it was the presser and he said something about Cooper. Maybe i misheard, but i think it was between the two. Leonard Williams simply was already on the roster for this team, you payed 8 million a year for Odrick. Quote:Oh the hand wringing is awesome. Caldwell is a needs drafter despite all the smokescreens and misinformation he passes along at some luncheon. We just signed Odrick so Williams was a non factor.

Quote:A 10 sack a year guy at the number 3 pick is just eh now? Lol....seriously? It's not that they wish bad things to happen, but that they just expect bad things to happen. There is a difference.

Not surprised, but still surprised. We sure need game changers on offense. Another sub.500 season and the coaching staff will be looking for jobs.
Quote:It's not that they wish bad things to happen, but that they just expect bad things to happen. Basically there are people who would not like any of the picks. Leonard Williams - Why did they take a run stuffer at 3? He's not even that good at rushing the passer. Amari Cooper - Why did they take another receiver? We have one of the worst defenses in the league. Vic Beasley - Great, another undersized pass rusher. He's not even that good. Andre Branch 2.0. It is predictable.

Not sure if I'm disappointed in the pick, or just not that excited about it.
I'm very surprised he would have been graded that high. Which leads me to believe, perhaps it's simply that none of the guys at the top were rated as high as they usually are in a typical draft. Certainly he was graded relatively the same (not a significant difference) as anyone left on the board. I don't think there was much difference between any of the guys in the top 10. Look at where an injured running back came off the board... 10. No RBs came off in the first round last year at all. More talent in that draft. Some suggested this wasn't a strong draft at the top. After last night, I'm thoroughly convinced of that. I think there will be plenty of "very good" players to come from this draft, but few superstars. The real beauty of this draft, the most impactful additions to our club, are likely to be what magic we can work in the second, third, and fourth rounds. That's where the heart of this draft seems to be. There seems to be a lot of good talent left to come off the board tonight, and early Saturday.

Quote:Caldwell building the franchise right ! Oh yea!! So we gonna win 10 games this year huh? Smh he failed! No, he didn't. We play in a division with Andrew Luck and now Marcus Mariota. We must be able to harass the passer. Next years schedule has 12 "winnable" games. Carolina Miami Tampa Bay Houston (2x) Buffalo Jets Titans (2x) San Diego Atlanta New Orleans I fully expect 8 wins. And that is significant improvement. ![]() Fix the O-Line!

Quote:No, he didn't. We play in a division with Andrew Luck and now Marcus Mariota. We must be able to harass the passer. I'm sorry, but BOTH clot games are winnable in my mind. They aren't like Ivan Drago. They have flaws, make mistakes, and are beatable. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

I'm being more conservative, then. :-) My larger point is that I think we have a legitimate shot for at least 8 wins. In my mind, until I see the team on the field, I don't think we beat the Colts. But Fowler should help with that! ![]() Fix the O-Line!
Quote:I'd say there are currently 16 games that are 'winnable'. Over how many seasons?
