I like how Caldwell's pick don't follow the draftnik norm. It lets me know he's doing his own research and homework on the players and not just relying on heresay like most of us do.

I get what you are saying but the Yeldon pick just doesn't fit at 36... He does fit our running back system but  for a rotational back with decent pace at that pick - I just don't know.

Fine with Yeldon but wonder why we couldn't have gotten him in round 3?

I think we go out of our way to draft who we want "too early" when we could probably trade back....or just wait.

Could have traded back to forget Bortles last year and could have probably gotten Yeldonin round 3.

Or at least moved back(if someone else was willing).

If this is the top ranked RB left on the Jags board than so be it.

I figured the next two would be RB and WR in some order.

Yeldon is not a bad back. Here's the problem...what's the difference in TJ, Tevn, Duke, Jay, David, Abdullah? I'll see how this draft goes. But if one or two of these guys are sitting in the 3rd round, I'd absolutely hate this pick. Even more if one of these guys are available in the 4th.

Why would they wait and get the worst guy? They got the one they thought was better

But the difference is Yeldon can catch and block a whole lot better then those guys

Gene Smith no way, Smith drafted guys from schools with High school stadiums 

 

Most of Dave picks are drafted where they are slotted

I think Dave has proved that he is not up to the task of being a GM.  I don't agree with the whole needs drafting philosophy.  He is probably better off being a scout.

Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency. 


1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.  

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.  

We have Bernard Pierce... so getting a RB with that high of a pick, and on Yeldon makes me scratch my head.

  

Pierce is a camp body. Doesn't mean I like the Yeldon pick, but painting Pierce as a starting option is incorrect.

Don't know what you guys are smoking, but TJ Yeldon is a solid pick up. He's going to be used as a third back not starter so what is the deal?

You don't draft a third back four spots out of round one.
