2nd Round Pick 36 TJ Yeldon

It lets me know he's doing his own research and homework on the players and not just relying on heresay like most of us do.Kind of like Gene Smith, right? I get what you are saying but the Yeldon pick just doesn't fit at 36... He does fit our running back system but for a rotational back with decent pace at that pick - I just don't know.
Fine with Yeldon but wonder why we couldn't have gotten him in round 3?
I think we go out of our way to draft who we want "too early" when we could probably trade back....or just wait. Could have traded back to forget Bortles last year and could have probably gotten Yeldonin round 3. Or at least moved back(if someone else was willing). If this is the top ranked RB left on the Jags board than so be it. I figured the next two would be RB and WR in some order. Quote:Kind of like Gene Smith, right? Gene Smith would reach on a marginal player just to fill a need. Wait a sec... Oh, nevermind.

Duke Johnson couldn't stay healthy in college... He'll never make it in the nfl

He doesn't seem too big either and someone mentioned the wear and tear already. I don't know. I really hope I'm wrong but I think there were better backs available.
Shock the world

Quote:Kind of like Gene Smith, right? Not really.. Butthole Gene was picking from the university of south central kansas of the deaf and blind.. Quote:At #36 he's starting.I hope so - and I hope he plays EXTREMELY well... My point is that we could have potentially picked him in the 3rd round (or a player with very similar skill-sets like him). We show less advertisements to registered users. Wow Yeldon's combine numbers are extremely similar to Leveon Bell. Another 2nd round pick.
Quote:Yeldon is not a bad back. Here's the problem...what's the difference in TJ, Tevn, Duke, Jay, David, Abdullah? I'll see how this draft goes. But if one or two of these guys are sitting in the 3rd round, I'd absolutely hate this pick. Even more if one of these guys are available in the 4th.Why would they wait and get the worst guy? They got the one they thought was better But the difference is Yeldon can catch and block a whole lot better then those guys

Quote:Not really.. [BAD WORD REMOVED] Gene was picking from the university of south central kansas of the deaf and blind.. Gene would have picked a punter. Oh wait...
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.
Check out the Jag's Forum Alternative: Duval Football Fans. Quote:Not really.. [BAD WORD REMOVED] Gene was picking from the university of south central kansas of the deaf and blind..Of course he would draft prospects from ITT Tech and whatnot... My reply was aimed towards the "GM not following the draftnik's opinion and doing their own research". Thats what they get paid to do and if they don't do a good enough job - they get canned. Rotoworld likes him too:

I wouldn't mind being proven wrong about this selection.

I think Dave has proved that he is not up to the task of being a GM. I don't agree with the whole needs drafting philosophy. He is probably better off being a scout.
Respect the game. Play with a sense of urgency.
1.) Take care of the ball. Win the turnover battle. 2.) It's all about 3rd down. Win on 3rd down to win the game. 3.) Playmakers make plays. The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays. Learn from the great collapse of 2023. Quote:We have Bernard Pierce... so getting a RB with that high of a pick, and on Yeldon makes me scratch my head. Pierce is a camp body. Doesn't mean I like the Yeldon pick, but painting Pierce as a starting option is incorrect. Quote:Don't know what you guys are smoking, but TJ Yeldon is a solid pick up. He's going to be used as a third back not starter so what is the deal? You don't draft a third back four spots out of round one. Quote:I think Dave has proved that he is not up to the task of being a GM. I don't agree with the whole needs drafting philosophy. He is probably better off being a scout. I fear you're right and we'll start rebuilding again after this season...smh |
