Oregon at Stanford

#1

If the Redskins/Vikings game was not important to Jaguars fans for draft order reasons, chances are a lot more of us would be watching this one: Oregon at Stanford. No doubt that is Game of the Week in college football - #2 vs. #5, literally the Pacific 12 version of the FSU/Clemson game two weeks ago. Winner controls destiny in Pac-12 North race. If Stanford wins, FSU will move up to #2 next week. Also, anyone curious about how good Marcus Mariota is can get all the answers because he is a Duck. So I really wish this was a Saturday night game. The choice is clear: FSU fans have to root for Stanford and FSU haters have to root for Oregon. I would watch it if they were scheduled to play on Saturday night instead of during the Redskins/Vikings game.

Except this one, obviously.

Will you watch it anyway?

A 3-5 team vs. a 1-7 team is not a premiere matchup.

Obviously. There will probably be millions more watching Oregon at Stanford than the NFL Thursday night.

I like Trent Murphy as a possible LEO and Taylor Hart as a possible replacement for Alu Alu.

Over 50 NFL scouts will be at this game. It's a pretty big game.

Most likely to see Oregon's quarterback. However I would not be surprised if they are scouting a few other Ducks too.

Will the Jaguars be there?

Kevin Hogan will be the better QB in this game for sure.

Expect Mariota to throw a screen pass party.

There are at least a dozen NFL prospects in this game. Including Trent Murphy who a lot of Jaguars fans would like to get in the second round.

And yes Caldwell will be there. A lot of times GMs go to these late season Thursday/Friday games since they are the only game happening on that day.

If Kevin Hogan is that good, fans will be watching a fun quarterback battle. So far all of the talk about Mariota seems to be about either the Heisman Trophy or the NFL draft.

He already had a QB battle against Hundley. And they both sucked.

Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, Josh Mauro, Hroniss Grasu, Shayne Skov, Boseko Lokombo, Trent Murphy and Taylor Hart will all likely be starting on Sundays next year.De'Anthony Thomas and Josh Huff could be contributors as role players and return men in the NFL.

Teddy in round one and Trent Murphy in round two would make me a happy man.

I think Murphy will end up going late round one, though.

How do you pronounce the first one? I bet a lot of announcers have butchered it.

I personally am not thinking past the first round because until the regular season is over, nobody knows if all "earned" picks will be the same number in each round.

Incredible first two rounds if we manage that.
