2nd Round Pick 36 TJ Yeldon

Quote:Caldwell disuses the TJ Yeldon pick: Makes sense. They saw 3 guys that would be out there day 1, carrying the bulk, and one of them was available so they grabbed him. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I see a deciding factor that he is a big back that can pass protect, and fall forward for 3 to 4 yards
Quote:Caldwell disuses the TJ Yeldon pick: Thanks. I missed this live. Caldwell said that TJ was among their top three backs, and the other two went in round one. He felt that after TJ there was a significant drop off in talent. Toward the end he made some interesting offensive scheme comments. They won't have a FB this season so they might carry as many as five RBs. He also said we might see some "two-back sets" which would be reminiscent of the 'ol Pro Set from back in the day.

Quote:The issue with Ajayi's knee is impacting him. ...as well as his inability to cut. BTW, David Johnson just went.

Quote:We've finally caught up to the modern NFL. A FB is a waste of a roster spot. That and the addition of Julius. Makes more sense to go two TE with Julius and Lewis than to take one of them just to put a FB in.
Wow. Matt Jones went in the 3rd round. Ahead of Ajayi.
"Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?" Quote:Wow. Matt Jones went in the 3rd round. Ahead of Ajayi. Maybe that knee injury isn't just a smoke screen. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Lucky for us they drafted Mariota, who I don't think will be all that good. This
I'm fine with the pick. Ajayi and Yeldon were the third and fourth best RB's IMO. Ajayi's knee must be an issue.
Yeldon has good speed, size, and most importantly in my view, loose hips. My biggest issue with Coleman was that he seemed to be very tight hipped.

Quote:Maybe that knee injury isn't just a smoke screen.Yeah it's definitely the injury concern draft. Diggy, Clemmings, Anderson, Ifo, Ajayi...teams are scared.
Watched move of him, he's elusive doesn't need massive holes to get through, what impresses me most about him is how he changes direction without losing a step.
He's not lightning fast but that change of direction will help him. I'm gonna put on my teal glasses and change my opinion. I think this guy could be good he's not as reliant as Coleman or abdullah on big holes and he is an every down back. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Went back watched more of Yeldon. Reminds me greatly of Arian Foster. Big, smooth, great catcher of the football, good feet and hips, sees things happen before they happen. LOVE TJ Yeldon

Quote:This is the exact same stuff people were saying about Gerhart. Except yeldon is far and away faster and gerhart is far and away stronger. Yeldon is shiftier and has more moves than Toby. If you are really thinking they're similar players, you should just switch to baseball or something.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
Quote:Except yeldon is far and away faster and gerhart is far and away stronger. Now that's just cruel and unusual punishment. How about basketball or something?
I do agree with the La Veon Bell and Arian Foster comparisons. If he turn out to be nearly as productive as either of those players I will be extremely happy. I also like the fact that the talent on the OL should be vastly improved this year making it easier for all of the skill players on the roster.
Respect the game. Play with a sense of urgency.
1.) Take care of the ball. Win the turnover battle. 2.) It's all about 3rd down. Win on 3rd down to win the game. 3.) Playmakers make plays. The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays. Learn from the great collapse of 2023. If Yeldon can live up to his draft pick and be one of the top backs for us this draft could be really good
Quote:If you are really thinking they're similar players, you should just switch to baseball or something.Toby = big, slow back Yeldon = big, slow back Therefore, in fan logic, Yeldon = Toby

Seattle fans compared TJ Yeldon to a possible new Marshawn Lynch that is what Gus Bradley is hoping he can coach him to be... http://www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/stor.../23711351/ As for the Jaguars, they need all the help they can get after finishing 3-13 last season. Yeldon made his case for why he should be picked. “I have good vision, good cutting,” Yeldon said. “I can catch the ball out of the backfield. I can split out wide and catch the ball. It just depends on how they want to use me in their offense.” I dunno about him being a MLynch he seems more like a Marshall Faulk type of HB |
