Justin Hardy 4th or 5th round?

Quote:I'd love to get him and try him at FS. If he is not a natural free safety, I don't want him. We need a guy who has played no other position, only free safety, to truly upgrade the position. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

It's beautiful. Quote:If he is not a natural free safety, I don't want him. We need a guy who has played no other position, only free safety, to truly upgrade the position. That's not true. That's not how this works. Quote:If he is not a natural free safety, I don't want him. We need a guy who has played no other position, only free safety, to truly upgrade the position. What do you think about Patriots Devin McCourty? We almost had him in FA, did you like him?
There is one thing with seam and vertical type slot receivers FreeAgent. Usually it takes very high level QB to make those guys effective, cannon arm, pinpoint accuracy.. I would almost argue that a qb makes those types of receivers.
Whereas For a move the chain create space type receiver, he can make a good qb a lot better. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

I am just saying that Caldwell seems to be looking for a player to stretch the field from the slot which may take them in a different direction.

Or do you not think it matters?
I think it depends on the skillsets of the rest of the receiving corp and the style of offense.
I'm not sure what GO has planned for our offense. If we are run heavy, then maybe possession receiver. If we are going to open it up, then a stretch the field guy. We do have a reliable possession type already in Allen Robinson on the outside. We also may have an underneath guy possibly in Blackmon IF he returns and IF they decide to play him there instead of the outside.

Quote:Wish we had more picks. I feel like we need a FS and another WR. With TJ Clemmings possibly available in the 4th, that would push a FS/WR prospect. Not sure that would be possible. Maybe Clemmings in the 4th, Smelter in the 5th, and hope that Holliman's softness and lack of physical ability causes him to drop to 6th Clemmings would be a nice jar on the shelf but I'm sure New England will nab him first.

Rashean Mathis, one of the greatest Jaguars in our short history, was drafted as a free safety then was moved to CB. That worked out pretty well wouldn't you say?

Can't fill every hole with the draft every year. The Jags chose to value RB over WR this year. Running backs are a dime a dozen, but Beckham and Devin Smith would've added the missing deep threat. Smith in particular could've played slot and not taken reps from Lee or Robinson, which seems to be Caldwell's concern.

Quote:Guys I like in the 4th-5th round range Good call with Tony Lippett, as the Dolphins drafted him as a CB. It will be interesting if they plan on using him as a WR in some red zone situations. I wouldn't doubt if they use that to their advantage at least in the preseason. Quote:He definitely has the length and ball skills to make plays in the redzone as a WR. I wouldn't doubt if they use that to their advantage at least in the preseason. That makes sense. And it certainly would greatly add to the value of Tony Lippett if he can making a significant contribution in the red zone in regular season games. As a CB, Tony Lippett has the potential to give them the length dimension that they had with current Chiefs CB Sean Smith a few seasons ago. |
