2015 Draft Twitter Thread

Quote:wanna bet we'll see a lot more power blocking and less zone blocking this year?

Marrone is mostly a power block guy.  He's been stressing everyone to get bigger and stronger.  That's the focus this off-season.  Put two and two together.

I agree with you here.  Bigger and stronger, with how our OL was last year, can only help.  This OL will be better, considerably better in my opinion.

Jacksonville had a really good draft. So did Arizona, Miami and Baltimore off the top of my head.

I definitely agree about Baltimore.

I think our first two picks are really boom or bust picks. Pretty much either they're really good and that means good picks or if they're both meh, kind of a crap draft.

Except they said a main reason they took yeldon was because he is great for the zbs

This freaking zbs we keep drafting players to fit a scheme even if it means drafting lesser players I just don't get it. We're betting big on this freaking zbs......

ZBS works and works really well. the broncos ran it forever and made any RB look like a stud.

we arent drafting players strictly that fit ZBS now. Cann isnt a prototypical ZBS guy, but hes a monster. he was a great pick.

beefed up joeckel, parnell, cann, wiz... the line got significantly better and i hope now joeckel can get back to form.

keep in mind we also have marrone here as an OL coach, to me thats the best coaching signing of the offseason.

I am not big on Perriman but like Baltimore's next two picks.

perriman is another guy who i compare to yeldon as a real boom or bust pick. he could be great, he could be a total waste.

I don't see Yeldin as a boom/bust pick. I see him being a very solid player- even if that is the extent of his upside.

No matter who we draft... Every year I talk myself into liking them. So I'm pumped!

This. I'm always critical at first then I eventually morph into a homer.

Yup Yeldon will either be a great pick or a solid player, I dont see him being a bust.

21 years old with a hairline like my grandpa. He's in trouble by the time he reaches 30.

a solid player at RB at round 2 is a waste in my mind, thats why i put it like that.

You can say that about any player in the draft tho, they either gonna be great or not

My point is at worst he wont be a terrible player like some guys and flame out the NFL in 3 years, and at best he can be Levon Bell

boom or bust to me means really good or really bad with no middle ground

I guess we are all entitled to our opinion, but I disagree. If he improves our running game, which I think he will, then its a good pickup. Yeah we may have been able to get someone similar as a runner, but the other guys may have more question marks surrounding their hands and/or their ability to block. And, it's *just* a 2nd round pick. Not like we drafted a RB in the top 10. Our offense is going to be run heavy apparently, so I like that they picked someone they really wanted.

at pick 36 used on a RB and hes only a solid player would be a waste to me.

in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and you pick a RB and hes solid then thats a good pick.

at 36 i think we need to see definitely playmaking ability and production out of yeldon for it to be considered a good pick, if hes solid, its a bust of a pick to me.

ok I guess to you every pick in the 1st two rounds are boom or bust, as long as your not picking Yeldon out because you didnt want him there

I don't think Yeldon is a boom or bust pick.  In the least, he is a solid upgrade to our running game.  May not be a star, but solid.  That may or may not be worth the 36th pick.  I think he's got upside to be a star though.

running backs arent a premium position anymore. a solid contributer on the DL or OL where there is more than one guy on the field at a time represents a lot more value than a solid running back, which we already have at least 2 of.

any position where we arent already solid, such as FS, where we get a "solid" player, would be less of a risk.

so if we took a FS i would have rated it higher in terms of value and upgrading the team.
