Quote:Really sucks, I saw it and it looks like a hyper-extension or MCL. The way he's able to roll and bend his knee seems like it is NOT an ACL. He wouldn't be able to have any control over it and it would've had to extend way more to tear it. The dude is strong and rarely got hurt at Florida, so there's no reason his ACL would tear so easily off of that step he did. I could be wrong though, but stay positive guys!
But...but....they were stabilizing the knee!  Otherwise that leg would have been flopping all over the place!

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

DE is largely irrelevant. If Bortles doesn't get better, we'll stink no matter how good Fowler would have been.

A sprain is a tear regardless of the grade.  The severity of the tear determines the grade.

Quote:You're basically laying it out that way by opining the reasoning behind having these rookie camps.  It's part of the process of becoming a player in the NFL, just as OTAs and Training Camp are the natural progression for preparing for the season.  Injuries happen.

mini-camp is a waste of time.  you don't really learn anything about the players and the coaches can only tell so much by watching underwear practice.  waste of time and unnecessary risk.

i just meant the recovery time. i have no knowledge of what grades constitute to what.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Agreed.  The D-Line is going to be improved this year with or without Fowler.

This team doesn't sink or swim on his knee.  It's all on the arm of Bortles.

<p class="" style="color:rgb(41,47,51);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">Per source, no update yet on Jags LB Dante Fowler Jr. and his knee injury. He's on his way to see a doctor.

So the olineman punches and Fowler essentially tries to cut right into the punch.. and his knee gives out/gets sprained. Am I seeing this right?

I don't know the difference between an MCL, ACL, PCL, meniscus tear, sprain, I'm just hoping for cramps. I get cramps some water and rest and I'm good to go.

Probably the same idiots who are on here declaring Fowler's career permanently destroyed.

At some point, setting all the coaching, managing, front office decisions aside, you have to catch some break, even the worst teams do. It seems the draft is the Jaguars achilles heal, ya know? While i may think this guy is a troll, Vito once said the draft is all "luck", and he may have a point to that. Jaguars have seemed to caught the wrong end of the sword 9 times out of 10. I really hope this injury is not serious, i think thats a major blow to a very positive offseason.

Jumping to conclusions, even if we did lose Fowler ( hopefully not), Jaguars are still in prime position to get better. There are far too many positives this team has done to not of done that, even without Dante Fowler. But this would be such a tragedy for our top draft pick's season to end like this. I really hope that its just a knee sprain.

A 1st degree sprain is not necessarily a tear. The fibres of the ligament are stretched, but often fully intact.

Quote:Well......

That looked worse than S Marks, Beason, Welker, D rose,  and every other ACL tear ive seen. People should probably let reality set in..... that thing is torn. A sprain wouldnt come from non-contact drills like that, a PCL, LCL, or meniscus tear, he would be able to put a lot more weight on it than he did. Hes out for the season... id bet the farm on it.
Yes, we should just accept that the ACL is torn based on....no information at all.  Great idea.
