The great big Blackmon thread (merged)

Quote:You know, I really don't care any more about the idiot. But I would have to agree, if anything *** official *** had happened yet I'm sure we would have heard more than just speculation.

Much like the team, I think most fans have pretty much set Blackmon aside as something not worth wasting a lot of energy on until we get something concrete one way or the other on his status.  Dempsey teased this over the weekend on Twitter, then basically regurgitates the same story Long tweeted out over a week ago, trying to spin it like it's some sort of breaking news because he confirmed it with the only reporter who's mentioned it in any way.

I'd like to see the team get closure one way or the other with Blackmon.  If he's reinstated, great.  Let  him compete for a roster spot and let's move on.  If he's not, it's status quo.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Three years for weed and alcohol and Brady gets 4 games? Seriously? All the talk about the integrity of the game being so important but it seems the league puts a higher price on policing the private decisions of its players. This isn't even about me wanting Blackmon back on the field. It's just such a draconian stance to take on something that has no bearing on what takes place on the field.

So now Dempsey is saying Mark Long will not come on the air to talk about his report that Blackmon had applied for reinstatement and was denied. Apparently Mark Long is now saying that he did not report that and Dempsey is now ranting about Mark.

So who knows what is going on with Blackmon.

This... AAAAAAAAAAAAAND

what if it was a mid tier player? Not a superstar... but a middle of the road, David Garrard type QB.

Would the hammer come down harder?

What if it was a RB... someone like Chris Johnson?

Would it be worse?     just wondering.... GODdell isn't always on an even field with everyone.

Smoking weed... 4 games./8games/full year/indefinitely

dui... 4games/8games/indefinitely?

Cheating 4 games?

beating your wife or girlfriend... 2 games.. wait 4 games.. no a full year..

Wow, Dempsey is blasting Mark Long right now.

Quote:I mean, you guys read in to what you want, but Mark Long is the same professional who confirmed the Jags wouldn't draft Dante Fowler.

It's reasonable that he applied for and was denied reinstatement. It's not reasonable for someone to apply for reinstatement with dirty pee, however; especially after rehab. That's a $10 million gamble that I don't think anyone would make.

Justin has done stupid enough things to this point; it won't surprise me if he failed another drug test. I'm not gonna hang him out to dry because Mark Long said so.

Maybe Dempsey should've read the forum and took my advice. Mark Long is not credible. If Glazer had said it, I would've believed it.

He played the clip of Long saying Blackmon applied and was denied twice and tore into him about changing his story and not coming on the air to clear up the story. Apparently Long called into XL Prime Time but Dempsey's producer picked up and Long refused to talk to Dempsey.

Now Dempsey is going to put the segment on Twitter to clear his name from the Blackmon applied talk.

Ozone today,

Scott from Wichita, KS:
Blackmon denied reinstatement?

John: This is a story that has been whispered on Twitter and recirculated on the Internet. There’s often a reason when stories aren’t reported as fact.

I did find it odd that the common denominator of all the reported Blackmon sightings was he told everyone that he planned on coming back. Whether he will be worth anything if he does come back is a different story.

I would assume if he did reapply and word got out I would be being reported everywhere.

At this point, I don't even care. If Blackmon is as big as the picture portrays himself to be, I doubt he can come back and compete at a professional level.

Whole lotta flip flopping gonna go on if he does come back.

at this point it seems like you would be angry if he came back, which is weird

Quote:Funny... the Jaguars should just cut the guy already.

Yep ... just like the Steelers who cut Lagarrette Blount (instead of suspending him) only to watch him sign with the Pats and win a super bowl

I have never seen someone so desperate to be right as much as high score.
