The Everett Golson Sweepstakes

Yep. Honestly I'd imagine him turning the ball over 20+ times. No thanks.

I don't see this as much of a sweepstakes.  He's not that great of a QB

He's better than Sean Maguire.

No doubt. I'd rather roll with true freshman Johnson than trot Maguire out there. A year with Golson would be a nice stop gap.

I think Jimbo could make Golson decent. Hell, if he can turn Ponder and Manuel into 1st rounders, he could at least make Golson serviceable.

I have zero faith in Maguire.

OL Recruiting Classes 2013-2015

FSU - 7 three stars, 6 four stars

UF - 14 three stars, 2 four stars, 1 five star

Didn't we go into spring with about 6 healthy scholarship lineman?

We've lost 3 to career ending injuries (including our best one coming into this year) and 4 to the draft. Our o-line situation is bad.

Why exactly? Are the coaches down on him? I guess being that they're courting Golson you could make an assumption, but have they said anything?

No, they aren't down on him.

I just have zero faith in him after what I saw from him during the Clemson game. Yes, he was forced into action at the last minute, but he looked absolutely clueless. If not for a DB falling down on a chuck and pray and a forced fumble by Eddie Goldman, FSU loses that game.

Not exactly the easier circumstances to jump into. Not at all an easy place to play. I think a bigger sample size would be needed before anybody knows how good/bad he'll be.

It was a home game. And I know the circumstances weren't easy, but he looked like it was his first time playing football.

Lol, I was going to say the same thing.  HIm visiting more schools shows that the three that he visited last week wouldn't give him the guarantees he wanted.

I think he is just hitting up all the major schools hearing what they have to say

losing players to the draft goes without saying.  everybody loses players to the draft sooner or later

I agree. FSU has had three first round QBs under Jimbo. What an idiotic decision to go play for a guy who could help him a lot.

I am not a huge Golson fan but I feel much better about him at QB than Maguire. Not a bad stop gap.
