Why wouldn't Mcnally speak with him again after "The Deflator" came to light?

 

How did they find the term Deflator?  It was in a text communication between the two ball boys.  How did they find it?  THEY HANDED OVER THEIR PHONES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE INVESTIGATION, and after they surrendered their devices, the wells investigators interviewed them for an entire day with 4 lawyers.  More on that later.  If i were the lawyers for the pats i would have a problem if i have numbers in front of me that show on one gauge the patriots balls were within the expected range and these guys still wanted to play phone tag.

 

Why wouldn't Tom Brady give him the text messages between the two guys that handled the footballs?  The Patriots said they were 100% complaint, but its obvious they were not in a couple instances.

 

What Text messages.  They had the devices of the two ball boys.  If they sent a text or recieved a text to or from Tom Brady there would be a record of it on their devices.  THERE ISN'T.  I still haven't seen any evidence to support the idea that there are meaningful communications on the telephone.  It was a poison pill nothing more.  

 

Why was someone who was not authorized to bring the footballs out of that room taking them into the restroom?  When questioned by NFL security that night, why did he say he brought them directly to the field?

 

Rule 2 Clearly states that the balls will remain under the supervision of the game official until they are delivered to the attendant.  Who is the attendant?  Jim Mcnally.  was this some clandestine operation to steal footballs?  No, he took them to the sitting room in front of everyone and watched the end of the NFC championship.  Then he got up, walked past league officials, executives, past the officials locker room etc.  One of the officials that he walks by on video was one of the executives specifically alerted about the psi of footballs.  Did anyone yell stop, robber, police.  No.  Why?  Becuase he was the ball boy.  He didn't hide it, he had bags of balls slung over his arm.  If it was so out of the ordinary don't you think someone would have said something?

 

Do we really believe that Mcnally called himself the Deflator because of weight loss?  Do the Patriots (and their fans) think the general public is that stupid?

 

It's not that your stupid, just ignorant (not possessing all the facts.)  Going back to the point i made earlier, the Wells investigators were in possession of McNally's phone before his first interview and that's how they found this text and this reference.  What took them so long.  Could it be that this term appears only once in the entirety of the text threads between jastremski and Mcnally?  One of the brilliant aspects of the media coverage surrounding this event and the Wells report itself is taking 5-10 key texts, or in this case one, and repeating them over and over again so that in the minds of the average observer jim Mcnally was whistling by the QB's meeting room every day with a big sign that said DEFLATOR on it.  In reality, he only used the term one time.  What names or caricatures have you adopted in jest before?  As for the reference to weight loss, you have to remember that you are analyzing the conversations between two people over a long course of time, not just the electronic communications that have been cherry picked for public consumption.  In matter of Fact, McNally used the term DEFLATE to refer to WEIGHT LOSS in other texts not brought forth by the Main Stream Sports Media or the Wells Investigators.  If you took a snap shot of some of the inside jokes i use with my colleagues i would be put in jail, especially when talking about text messages.  That's why, historically, text messages are always the best source to derive proper context because they don't include tone of voice.  So in reality, 

 

Why was Mcnally given equipment, jerseys, and autographes for doing just a game day part time job?  Why did Brady say that he didn't know who either of them were?

 

Could it be that Brady is a multi millionaire married to a billionaire  in training and he's just a nice guy?  Brad johnson paid, what was it, 7500 to get the balls prepped for the superbowl on a one time gig?  If tips didn't actually cost you anything how generous would you be the next time you went to IHOP.  And in reality, the wells investigators didn't produce evidence to support much if any communication with McNally, the person in question.  

 

Why does their seem to be a pattern of pushing the limits of the rules by the Patriot organization?

 

This is actually a little on the B.S. Side.  This investigation has been limited to Tom Brady and two ball boys.  none of them had a role in video taping signals from the sideline.  That would be like saying because R.J. Soward, Matt Jones, Reggie Williams and justin Blackmon all liked the sweet Stinky that the jaguars organization deals drugs.  At a certain point you have to make a contextual difference between lack of institutional control, creating and environment that encourages cheating, and the potential actions of individuals.  I don't think an instance where worst case you clear the owner, the head coach, the coaching staff, all the executives up to and including the head trainers and equipment people that you can make a real jump to a pattern.  

 

Why did all 11 footballs the Patriots used test below the minimum level of 12.5 psi and the 4 Colts footballs tested between 12.5 to 13.5?  Why did other teams give the "heads up" that this could be happening?

 

With all due respect, not even the Wells investigators expected the Patriots Footballs to measure 12.5 at halftime.  If you don't factor in the fact that PSI is inherently dynamic then its going to be tough to have a meaningful conversation.  That being said, factoring in game conditions 8 of 11 patriots footballs measured as expected at halftime and their overall average was within the expected range as set forth by league consultants (based on the results of the LOGO GAUGE)

 

1.) I fundamentally reject the premise that you compare 11 Patriot Footballs to 4 Colts footballs.  Why did they only test 4 Colts footballs?  "We ran out of time."  B.S.  The entirety of the wells report is predicated on the idea that one man can unbag, precisely deflate, and rebag 12 footballs in 40 seconds, but the most consequential PSI measurements in the modern era couldn't have gone another 30 seconds to get all the data?  And it just so happens that the football that was the last to be measured was the first to average below 12.5 on the two gauges and teetered between being a third of a pound under and borderline?  Talk about not passing the smell test.  To accept this premise at face value is, in my opinion, evidence of bias.  

 

2.)Where is the record of the PSI of each football pre-game?  Save your time it doesn't exist.  So basically you punish the Patriots under the guise of protecting the integrity of the game based on a rule that had essentially no real enforcement mechanism.  This entire investigation is based on the 100% infallibility of the officials when it comes to measuring and handling the footballs in the face of the fact that a.) there is documented evidence that one officiating crew over inflated footballs in excess of three pounds, b.) there is no record kept of pre-game measurements, c.) there is no standardized calibrated gauge used by all officials, d.) the officials don't even keep track of what gauge they used during the game.  e.) Even the wells report hypothesizes that during halftime they couldn't even write down the results correctly, f.) post game one of the re-inflated Patriots balls measured 13.65 PSI a clear violation of Rule 2.  That means that Walt Anderson and company who we take at their word down to the tenth of a PSI about pre-game PSI levels missed the inflation of a football by a full pound... The Gold standard right?  g.) the chain of custody of the footballs was kept casual at best.  One of the reasons that a K ball was accidentally inserted for play was because Anderson didn't remember if he initialed the balls to signify that they were ready to play.  h.) Even within the limited sample size that we have for the Colts footballs we know that each football behaves differently in response to external variables.  

 

3.) And this is the most heinous in my opinion.  Based on the prejudice against the Patriots as such blatant cheaters we have gone so far as to take documented evidence that an officiating crew blew the PSI during a game against the jets by nearly 3 FULL POUNDS (and not a peep from the "Integrity of the game" crowd) and use said evidence to support the idea that the PATRIOTS were tampering with the football?  Think about that.  The NFL employees "Officialls" are the ones that are really being covered for in this case.  There is a rational discussion to be had about temperature drop and PSI of a football.  If a team requests 12.65 and they get a ball back at 16 what do you say to that?  Even the most biased observer would have to conclude that it was a result of either human error or malicious intent.  If you really cared about INTEGRITY OF THE GAME you would be looking at the electronic communications between those officials and reviewing the process by which PSI is measured.  Instead we try to turn this around against the team that was wronged.  At the very least this further illustrates that a bunch of lawyers who officiate part time may not be universally competent to measure this aspect of the game.  If you can't guarantee the PSI Pre-Game then the rest of this doesn't matter and in this case the idea that in the absence of standardized documentation you're just going to take someone's word for it is laughable at best.

Here's what you're not going to do.  You're not going to be able to rationalize why the pre-game PSI numbers weren't written down.  You're not going to tell me why only 4 Colts footballs were measured.  You're not going to tell me why false numbers were leaked to the press to exaggerate the alleged under inflation.  You're not going to tell me why so few people know that based on the measurements of one gauge that the Patriots footballs were within the range expected given conditions.  you're not going to be able to tell me Why the Pats get a multi million dollar investigation while the vikings and other teams caught on video violating the same rule got warnings and small fines.  You're not going to be able to prove to me that the level of the Patriots footballs couldn't be explained by natural factors.  you're not going to be able to find a single word in the Wells report that directly refutes the study done by Bill Belicheck before the superbowl.  You're not going to tell me why the colts weren't sanctioned for their violations of Rule 2 because measuring a footbal during a game, ACCORDING TO THE RULES, is the same as deflating it intentionally.  You're not going to show me any evidence that Tom Brady knew about or directed any alleged CONSPIRACY. Most importantly, you're not going to tell me why when Walt Andersons initially recalled to the Wells investigators that he used the logo gauge pre-game (which would have all but exonerated the Patriots) he was grilled into saying "It's possible i don't recall!"

I'd still like to know why the two Patriot ball boy guys are out of a job if nothing wrong was done. They are fall guys, plain and simple. Sad, especially since they were only doing what Brady and Belichick wanted (or at the very least Belichick knew).

I think McNally inflated the ball in the Jets game to 16 psi, as a warning to Tom Brady to get off his back.  The texts indicate that the threat of overinflation was a constant theme for McNally, along with a threat to go to ESPN.
