The Bears were heavily criticized by signing Ray McDonald in the first place.  Chances are,  they won't make a similar mistake anytime soon after McDonald's latest incident.

In before someone suggests we sign him.

Sign him!

And make his one and only job to wear a sign around his neck in the locker room that states "Don't let this happen to you."

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

He got lucky that the Bears stuck their necks out for them. Backfired for the Bears, and McDonald looks like a bigger idiot.

How? What does McDonald's situation have to do with the Ray Rice debacle?

Bears took a chance on a guy with a history of domestic violence, it backfired big time and makes them look bad. It definitely affects Ray Rice.

I still don't see how, though. No one was going to sign Ray Rice anyway.

I don't necessarily agree with that. I thought he would be signed closer to training camp.

Nah, he's done. Even if he hadn't beat the crap out of his fiancee, his numbers fell off badly the last couple of years and he looked like he was ready to have a fork stuck in him.

Exactly.  A lot of people are saying Ray Rice isn't getting signed because of the domestic violence issue.  That is why he got cut...he's not getting signed because the last couple years in Baltimore he was losing carries to young running backs.

He would still be getting a camp invite from a team IMO. Would he be highly sought after? No, but I definitely think he would be getting a shot somewhere. I saw the decline as well. It's hard not to see it but I definitely feel like some team like Dallas would've taken a shot at him. If MJD can look as bad as he did his last year in Jax and get a shot in OAK, Rice could've at least gotten a look somewhere.

Ray Rice isn't going to get a camp invite from any teams.  At best, he's a guy that some team would call if they're desperate for a body after they've lost one or two backs to injury during the season.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Agree to disagree. I think before this whole McDonald thing, he had a good shot at getting brought in for camp. No way to ever prove it as we will never know if talent or off the field was the main culprit in preventing him from getting another chance, I'm just saying that's my opinion.

Understood.  But, since his reinstatement, no team has been knocking down his door to sign with them that I've seen reported.  There was 1 report that 4 teams were interested in him immediately following his reinstatement.  Nobody signed him.  He was reinstated at the end of November.  We're now a few days from June.  I don't think the McDonald situation had any impact on Rice's future with another team.  It will have some moving forward, but he's been out there for a long time and nobody has been looking his way despite the fact that there were/are several teams who had/have a need at that position.
