Quote:Did anyone expect anything different?

Sarcasm or not, it's inevitable.

Could have easily penciled him in as starter even before he showed out well at OTAs.
I know quite a few folks here pretty much called it when he was drafted.  We don't have another guy who can be at a minimum a 3 down back.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:Yeah, you should actually read Ryan's tweets sometime. He constantly tweets like that. Not to long ago he made a comment about us drafting 32nd next year.
Not unrealistic at all as long as trades are in play.

I'll preface this by saying, I'm not sure what I'd expect him to say otherwise, but I still get a bad feeling when I watch Olson's press. The most tangible info I'm getting from the OTAs are whenever Blake gets to speak into a microphone. He seems to grasp what's going on, where the deficiencies are and how he's progressing to make improvement. I firmly believe he gets it, and is getting at it. The rest seems like so much smoke up our skirts.

I really want to get hyped along with all the tweets, but that's what I do every year at this time.

Let's get back to Olson. Maybe he's just got a bad media presence, or maybe I'm still holding on too much to my resentment during the initial hire, however our O-line was the most horrible part of our team last year. It wasn't just that we were young, or we wouldn't have cut Fisch when we did. Yet all I hear are the positives, the excitement, the hope for the coming season from Greg. Of course that's what he's supposed to be saying right now, and for some reason it's easier to believe from Babich's side of the field, because that's where we had some strength last season. I guess I feel that our new OC should be identifying where our weaknesses are and have a plan of attack to correct them. Instead, he seems to be happy with where the players are, trying his best to make them feel comfortable, and thinks we're really close to where we need to be.. what is that? What happened between the end of last season and the beginning of OTAs that made his job so easy?

Ultimately, it'll come down to Blake, and Luke, and Yeldon, and our Defense. It's the players, not the plays that'll net us success. I just already get the idea that Olson's an empty suit out there. If anyone is actually 'on the ground' who can help me see this differently, let me know. I wanna get hyped up, I really do, but I've just been burned too many times before.

Did you miss the part where we brought in 3 potential starters for the o-line this offseason?

Did he also miss the part where we don't need a book for him to express his feelings?

Jaguars</a>. Can watch everything but report on nothing, but I'll say this: Watch out AFC.

if a coach has anything but praise for you in OTAs, that's not a good sign

but i think anybody paying attention without bias could tell you he isn't very good

"Come training camp, Sergio Brown-James Sample battle at free safety may be best one on team. Gus said Sample may run some w 1s next week."

I won't get overly hyped by the underwear practice, the watered down training camp or the preseason games.  Come September show us something.

Death of the Franchise - November 29, 2011

Fans deserve better. Thanks for all the good times too many are in the past.

Seems like we are getting healthy. Miller and A. Robinson are almost there and it sounds like Robinson is going to come back with vengeance. Wiz and Lee might be a little longer but they have been all over the field keeping there mental game up.
