Marcus Mariota Vs Teddy Bridgewater

Quote:Vagrantwade, I hope you know that you and your 'scouting evaluations' can't be taken serious because you have such an obvious bias for Bridgewater and against any QB not name Bridgewater.

No NFL scout goes into games with pre-conceived notions like 'especially after he gets rocked against Stanford'.

But really, he just got rocked by Stanford.

He won't be there if TB picks ahead of us.

Bucs will win a game or two

Buccaneers will probably beat the Dolphins this week.  If not then probably the Falcons next week.  The"get ahead and then lose the game" strategy won't work against teams that can't catch up.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Yep....the sooner the better.....I'm thinking Monday Night......they have a good chance against a team distracted and in turmoil

Was watching draftbreakdown's UCF video of Teddy.  One of the plays they were talking about how Teddy's set up to earn his degree at the end of his junior year.  Just another thing to throw in there about the kind of guy he is.  Gets his stuff done.

Mariota like a mini-Cam Newton

Marcus Mariota is a smaller version ofCam Newton, with more accuracy as a passer than Newton at the same age (although Newton is much improved now). When you see what Mariota did against Washington and Washington State, two pretty good defensive teams; vs. Tennessee, a fast defensive team; and UCLA, a great defensive team, you have to be impressed. Many people might say, "Well, yeah, but what about his game against Stanford?" I think he did pretty well in the second half after making adjustments. He's a player I'd pick to build my NFL franchise around.

Cam has a bigger arm

Cam is a bigger qb

Cam is more athletic

He also knows how to get through adversity

Cam also did it by himself at Auburn

Mariota has talent all over the field

Yeah I don't like the comparison either. They don't really play alike at all. His best comparison is Kap.

The mini/lesser cam in this draft is Boyd.

Why does it matter? It's not exactly a difficult thing to learn.

everyone always says this and then QB's who have to learn it generally struggle.

Sorry, but give me a QB who you need to do less "fixing", thank you....

So friggin tired of "projects". You think more people around here would be after some of the QB we have been through...

Did I say I want Mariota over teddy? I won't soil myself if we end up with Mariota who I think will be a good qb.

We all agree Gabbert sucked but, there was one thing he didn't struggle with after his first few games. Taking snaps under center...

Boyd is nowhere near Cam

Boyd is better version of David Garrard, to be honest.

Hence the mini/lesser before Cam. They have a similar running style and a strong arms (Boyd is not as good obviously).

I could see that too. I was just saying Boyd is the closest to a mini cam in this draft.
