Basically, May is the most critical month for berry development and any time it's under 85 for long stretches of the day it's trouble.

Add a little rain in there and it's a recipe for disaster - which we had like three times.

Quote:Ugh.... Hang in there, man.

I've had a rough month. Just from an exhaustion standpoint.  I've had only two days off in the past 28 days.  Some of the days involved working two jobs per day.  No relief till Tuesday.

Come Tuesday - There will be beer.

So. Much. Beer.

I feel ya NYC, 2am and fresh off the tractor :/

OK. Well let's see if the singles and doubles events go better than team yesterday. I can't imagine it going much worse.

Wow...I didn't have a clue that there was that much involved in growing stuff. Probably why all my house plants are dead. Laughing

If you start drinking heavily now, it won't hurt so much when you don't win.

Why is the rain bad?

I actually ended up doing something I've never done...possibly in any sport, as long as I've been playing. There were several extenuating circumstances that I won't go into. But...I pulled a Tiger Woods and withdrew after the first game of the singles competition.

Yep...I quit and came home. I stuck it out for the doubles and team events because I didn't want to screw anybody over. But after another horrible game in singles, and those extenuating circumstances, I packed it in a left Gainesville in my rear view.

What's that old adage..."when the going gets tough, the tough quit".  It's something along those lines.

That sucks, but when something isn't enjoyable any longer, it's best to move on!

I felt bad about it for about 10 minutes.  By the time I hit the Waldo city limits, a great calm came over me.   Smile

I find it interesting that you knew it was closed.  Moonlighting?   :woot:

I can't remember the last time I was on 301.  Looked pretty much the same.  Probably ten years since I've been to Gainesville.

What happens in Waldo, stays in Waldo! Wait...that doesn't sound right, does it?

I'm a long, long time Gator season ticket holder, and my son just graduated from there this past December, I have been on 301 way more times than I would like to admit.

Is Waldo Willy still a thing down there? They still gouging it to all of the 301 drivers?

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Nope, they completely disbanded the Waldo police department a couple of months ago...if that's the Willy you are talking about, and not some total perv.

That's what my Dad used to refer to them as. There wasn't much that could get him riled up, but the Waldo "police department" was one of them.
