Drew Brees. I dont understand it.
|
Drew Brees since he entered the league in 2002 has been one of the most outstanding quarterbacks in the NFL. Yet he consistently gets paired in the 2nd tier with the Russell Wilsons, Matt Ryans, and Cam Newtons and not with Luck, Manning, Brady, and Rodgers. Hes consistently gets to the playoffs, except for '12 where Payton was gone, and '14 with really no help from his team. He was the only Saint player on the top 100 of 2015. Somehow Drew Brees is ranked #30. Here are some stats from Drew Brees over his career.
Most Yards since he entered the league. Most tds since 2006, and 2nd from when he entered the league. Highest completion percentage in a season ever, and since he entered the league. Most 5,000 yard seasons, 4, next best- 1. Most consecutive games with at least 1 td Led league in passing in 2014 9 straight seasons with over 4,000 yards. 7 straight seasons with over 32 tds. First qb to pass for 40tds in back to back seasons All time leader in Completion percentage. Had 5 of last 8 nfl best offenses including 2014. 4th all time in tds, and pass yards. I don't get why he's not being talked about with Brady and Manning as being the best ever.. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Who's putting Brees in the second tier? NFL QB conversations I've seen usually involve Manning, Brady, Brees and everyone else.
Go look at NFL.coms qb rankings for the past few years. He is always 6th or 7th. Ranked 30th and the 7th best at #30 in the top 100.
If NFL.com says it, it must be true, right?
Drew Brees is, at worst, the fourth-best QB in the NFL right now. At worst.
When it comes to the top 5 QBs it becomes very fluid of who's the best. Each is great for different reasons.
The second tier players are like carbon copy of the top 5 but lacking the consistency. Then the rest either don't have it or are developing. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
NFL.com releases the most qb rankings of any affiliated website and based off their so called knowledge you think they'd be able to put together a accurate ranking systems. Serioulsy NFL.com 10th. Last Years NFL.com QB Rankings
1. Rodgers, 2 Brady, 3. Ben, 4. Manning, 5. Romo, 6. Luck, 7.Rivers, 8. Wilson, 9. Ryan, 10. Brees. Last on the 2nd tier. Just above Flacco and Eli

Im a die hard Jags fan and go to all the games but I love to watch Brees and the Saints just to see what he does next. Hes got a great attitude just donated 1 million dollars. Hes one of the most likable guys but hes apparently not well liked. Its just not right. Its brutal.

It doesn't matter. He's HoF bound regardless.

Quote:It doesn't matter. He's HoF bound regardless. This. When all is said and done, Drew Brees is a HoF QB...he's just one of those guys that I don't think will get the recognition he's due until he's retired, sadly.

Drew Brees has been considered a top 5 qb for a long time. Just because one list says he isn't does not mean its true.
It's not shocking that based on his age that some websites are going to start dropping him. The Saints haven't won anything to keep him in the limelight. If they have a good season he will be right back there. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
The talent around him has dried up considerably. If he was on the Bengals, they'd be the favorite the AFC. He needs a new home if he wants to have another shot at the Super Bowl.
How do his stats compare for just the past 2 seasons or so..
I mean I remember him being in the conversation as top 3 just under Manning and Brady for awhile... And then Arod blew up. And Wilson won a superbowl. And from Saints fans I'm friends with that follow the team... they are "just about" ready to move on from Brees. He isn't a player that can carry a team anymore. If he ever really was. Not trying to hate on Brees, but he's got less in the tank than Manning and Brady.... and the younger guys that come in and win SBs are gonna get the nod over him. He was a great QB. HOFer... but the past couple seasons he hasn't been one of the best..... Quote: 2014 4,952 yards 33 TDs 17 INTs 97.0 QB rating 2013 5,162 yards 39 TDs 12 INTs 104.7 QB rating

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
Quote:2014 Brees is still a top 5, possibly top 3 qb. It's one article that had him at #10.....being on a bad team makes everything look worse than it is. Ask the Jaguars. Quote:2014Padded stats... cmon man. I never said anything was atrocious. He just isn't one of the best. Some of that is making plays in "crunch time". If you throw for 5k yards in a losing effort... you're just a great fantasy QB option. 33TDs and 17INTs after 39/12 shows the decline... can't deny it... Sorry you're butt hurt about Brees NOT being a top option at QB anymore, when he once was (at least for one or two seasons he was easily #3) If I'm building a team I could easily take 5 QBs before him.
