Right, because it couldn't possibly be the fact that he thinks you guys are wasting an awful lot of energy opining the fact that a guy wearing a cat suit is going to be replaced by another guy wearing the same suit. 

 

Curtis is a legend, but c'mon.  Really?  They will find a replacement, and I'll venture to guess nobody will be able to tell the difference when they do.  In fact, there's even the remotest of possibilities that whoever does take over in that role might even do a better job.  I know, impossible to believe, but that does indeed represent a potential reality. 

 

And before you get into the "Well, if you've been to a game..." nonsense, I've missed one home game in 20 years.  I was there before Curtis and Jaxson existed.  Yes, he has proven to be entertaining in that role, and at times he was the only highlight for some pretty dreary games.  Still, it's a guy in a cat suit.  That suit will live on, and it will simply have a new tenant. 

 

Nobody is downplaying the love the fan base has for this mascot, and the fan base isn't going to LOSE the mascot, so that love can continue. 

 

 

I find it funny that you will pick out certain topics and try to mock people for having an opinion and wasting their energy on something when you have almost 60k posts here.

What are you talking about?  I think you are taking people going to miss Curtis as the mascot (who people have followed for 19 years) and comparing it to a deceased relative a little bit too far.  Not shocked...par for the course with you.

 

You are the one saying people are spending a lot of time focusing on his retirement.  He announced it on freaking Monday and you are acting like people are having memorials and crying in the corner at night.

Everything is an argument with the folks on this board. It's no wonder the traffic is at an all time low. Come to check Jags happenings and see the same few constantly puffing up like bullfrogs. Insults, personal digs, It's the ch. 4 or TU comments section. 

 

Personally, I will miss Curtis's personality as Jaxson. Hopefully the next guy will do his best and serve as a good ambassador for the team. I would apply if I wasn't so damn old. Man it sucks getting old.

You claim to be intimately familiar enough with my postings to be able to predict my responses.  That goes beyond just reading other threads, but stalkers usually don't realize that's what they are until it's pointed out to them, so I'm happy I could assist.

Yet you responded to my post specifically and I didn't mention adding him to the pride or changing the mascot.  You just like to beat your chest and try to bring people down.  You responded to my opinion where I was talking to another poster...did you expect me not to respond?

 

This isn't news or anything, but you like to act as pompous as possible like you are the end all be all of Jaguar message board posters.  It's impossible to have a rational discussion with you because you will bring up random things that don't mean a thing to the discussion (ie, I'm a stalker now) and ramble as much as possible....sadly, you have a lot in common with TMD.  At least TMD brought up a valid point about Jaguar football once in a while.

Wow a lot of hate going on here for a guy retiring. I guess there are a lot more die hard football fans who do not want any entertainment during the game. That was tried about 60 years ago until it was realized of the 60 minutes of game time there is only about 12 minutes of actual playing time(time from when ball is snapped until play is whistled dead. Then of course the NFL started selling advertisement and most games take over 3 hours to play. I for one am a diehard fan but most of the time enjoy the other 3 hours of entertainment. Relax and let those who want to say adios to a guy who made most people in the stands smile a couple of times every game for 19 years especially when about half of the games were not pleasant or entertaining to watch the actual football.

Then to walk out in the second half with it in a bandage was hilarious.  I think thats what is going to be missed the most....his off the cuff stuff was pretty darn funny.

That actually happened during the team entrance. The pyrotechnic ring they ran through rained down on him igniting his head. My better half had won the 1st possession payday contest that week (a thousand bucks for every point scored on the Jags first drive) and we were actually on the sidelines when it happened. Everyone was yelling at him and he ran into the tunnel and you could hear several fire extinguishers being used. The Jags first drive started out at our own one yard line after we intercepted. We got a few first downs out to about midfield and then punted. No money for us but she did get a big [BLEEP] fake check with her name on it.
