Trent Richardson to Colts For First Rounder
|
They traded a first round pick for a player with late round talent... It doesn't matter who the browns or colts drafted, the trade is terrible as the value is bad.
If somebody bought my house valued at 200k for 500k I would have done a good deal right? It doesn't matter what I do with the 500k...its still the right decision to sell. What is done afterwards is irrelevant We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Next off-season and summer are critical regarding what the Colts can realistically expect out of Trent Richardson moving forward. I'm reluctant to be critical of Richardson's performance with the Colts this season because Richardson hasn't had an off-season and training camp with the team. It's possible that he's thinking instead of reacting naturally. Next year at this time, the Colts should have a great idea if Richardson is worth even close to what the Colts paid for him in trade compensation. Good post D6. I share the same sentiment. I believe Richardson will be a very good player for Indy. I'm thinking it's just gonna take a while to get acclimated to his new team. We'll see.

Quote:They traded a first round pick for a player with late round talent... It doesn't matter who the browns or colts drafted, the trade is terrible as the value is bad. This theory is still wrong. What if the Colts would select player X in the draft with that pick and he lasts 1 season and retires. Total bust. The trade wouldn't have been bad.
Quote:This theory is still wrong. So if I was offered 1,000,000/1 on Seattle to win the superbowl and they lost I have made a bad bet? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:So if I was offered 1,000,000/1 on Seattle to win the superbowl and they lost I have made a bad bet? Yes. I don't understand that analogy? We traded the first round pick for Trent Richardson. If that first round pick would to be used on a total bust it would be a good trade for the Colts. I don't see how this is confusing at all.
There has been time to judge the Richardson trade now. I am fair. I am objective. This trade has been a tremendous disappointment.
Right now Richardson is not even the best RB on the team. And when you add in that we gave up a first round pick on a team that needs help at LT and WR, it makes the move even tougher. I hope Richardson can turn it around. But right now based on production, the critics who opposed the trade so far have been right. This Sunday we play the Rams at home. It is a game the Colts should win. Richardson is rumored to be featured heavily in the attack. I view this as a "put or shut up game." If Rochardson doesn't have a great game Sunday, I think the Colts will know what they have and must proceed accordingly going forward.

However I'm not ready to ship sail on him yet. Hoping for improvement throughout the rest of the year and then next year (after the offseason of OTAs & training camp) it's boom or bust for me. Also, the Colts are set at LT & RT, not sure why you mentioned that. Cherilus & Castonzo have been playing well. Our interior OL is horrendous, however. Satele & McGlynn have got to go. Thornton is a rookie and has shown flashes at times, but has also struggled at times. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Good post D6. I'm not quite as optimistic that Trent Richardson will turn out to be a very good player for Indianapolis. Yet, until Richardson has a full off-season and summer to get acclimated to the team's scheme and the blocking tendencies of his supporting cast, I'm taking a wait and see approach. Clearly, Richardson has plenty of natural talent. Whether it's going to translate on to the NFL level in general and for the Colts in particular is one of the key questions in the AFC South in the next year. Coltswarriors also raises a good point in that the interior of the Colts Offensive Line is not performing well enough. As great of a QB Andrew Luck is, there are going to be games that even Luck can't overcome the many problems that the Colts Offense currently has. Quote:Yes. If who picks the bust? The Colts? Being that you have no way of knowing this, that makes it impossible for this to be a bad trade for the Colts. It also doesn't matter who Cleveland picks, being that there's simply no way of knowing who Indianapolis would have taken. You know what makes this a bad trade for the Colts, regardless of draft hypotheticals? If Trent Richardson doesn't perform.
On Wisconsin.
Quote:Yes. It means even if the the result isn't favourable for the Browns by picking a bust. You take that trade every time as you are a winner in the long run. Quote:Agreed (for the most part). So far huge disappointment. I too am not ready to ship sail on him yet. My prior post is only reviews what I think has happened so far. Nobody wants this trade to work out more than me. I pray for improvement. I do disagree about our left tackle position. Costanzo has been terrible. LT must be a top priority in the draft. We have literally been looking for a LT replacement since Tarik Glenn retired in 2007. During the first half of the Texans game the reason why the Colts offense struggled was because of offensive line play. At halftime the Colts changed their blocking assignments and deployed 6 offensive lineman instead of 5 to help out with pass protection. This led to the success the Colts had in the second half. We have to get better along the O-line. Lets hope for a good result against the Rams on Sunday. I will be in the stands cheering away! ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. What SHOULD be a top priority in the draft is center & offensive guards. Then dline.
Colts fans, I have a question. How has Werner looked?
I've heard he's sucked. If that's the case, you better hope that your late round picks in this upcoming draft pan out. Because you don't have a first this year and your first this past draft hasn't been great. It just looks a lot like what my Jaguars are going through right now (lack of production from first rounders).

Quote:Colts fans, I have a question. How has Werner looked? Ehh... You can't really tell with Bjoern, honestly. He's missed weeks 4-8 (4 games) with injury. He just returned last week and he's the backup to Walden. When he has played he's looked decent. Not good, not great. Really not much work on him to tell if he "sucks" or has potential. Before his initial injury his arrow was pointing upwards, though.
Well Richardson looked pretty good today. Definitely worth a 1st round pick.

Is there any better feeling than bumping this thread on a weekly basis? Poor Clot fans.
I feel bad for Donald Brown having to stand and watch that crap when he's twice the player.
Quote:Is there any better feeling than bumping this thread on a weekly basis? Poor Clot fans. The funny thing is to most people it was clear before the trade he wasn't worth a 1st rounder in the first place, but the Colts did it anyways. So it's not surprising, but still funny ![]() |
