Quote:That's a myth that the "profits stay here" just  because it's manufactured here.  Do they get the 60% of foreign parts handed to them for free?  Based on the quality of HD, you might think so, but they actually pay for their parts, so unfortunately for you, quite a bit of that bottom line is going to foreign producers.

Indian is no better.  You do realize they're a Canadian company, right?

Conservatives buy what they want without fear of being politically correct.  I don't care if a liberal wants to buy a Prius, or a Vespa like I'm sure your "Harley" actually is. Wink  To each his own.  You're the one that's offended because something is made in China.  If that's what is most important to you, stay out of any retail establishment in the US because the bulk of what you're buying is foreign made.

BTW, my Kawasaki has almost 100k on the odometer, and other than normal maintenance, it's never given me a lick of trouble.  The most reliable parts on HDs happen to be Japanese made.  Go figure.
Man...how brave. Wait, is that you Donald?

I'm just going along with the "typical stereotype" placed on guys that drive "gigantic pickup trucks".  That seems to be where TJBender is going with this, and just want to confirm.

So what is the "total whooshery" that you speak of?

In the interest of not getting myself a timeout by being too specific, all I'll say is that I can't believe it's gone right over your head. If you need any further clarification, PM me.

So what you're saying is, you can make a comment in public on a public message board, but won't back it up publicly?

I work on Prius's all the time. They're not bad cars for flat Florida but I wouldn't dare imagine taking one into the mountains or snow. I've worked on all the generations the whole battery thing is overblown only had to replace one battery ever it was a 10 year old model and it ran about 2500 installed.

Any car getting better then 40mpg is good these days. Heck I know a few guys that have a Prius to get to work (it's normal to have to drive 80-100 miles one way from putnam county for work) and have a truck around their property. I drive my Mazda 3 ( roughly 33 mpg ) to and from work ( 70 mile round trip) and leave my silverado at home.

The best hybrid is still the Prius despite all the stereotyping it gets. There really isn't anything close. All the new Hondas and Toyota are taking 0w20 so the maintane is pretty much the same across the board. Just you'll use less gas with the Prius over an accord or Camry

Typically it means he's less loaded in the baby makin equipment, but I drive a Ford Fiesta so I wouldn't know anything about that.

False, they are only the stupid choices made by un-intelligent proggies.

I know this because the knuckle-draggers say so.

Quote:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_Mot...y...Indian vs Kawasaki...more American for my tastes...based in Minnesota I believe

So "liberals" drive foreign cars while getting ragged on by guys who hop on their foreign bike and ride off into the red setting sun. Gotcha. Forgot about the ol double standard.
Indian is owned by Bombardier.  They're headquartered in Canada.  So, no.  It's not much more American than a Kawasaki.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Ya, you don't name your cars?

Girl names for gas, boy names for diesel.

Not Polaris? You sure it's Bombardier?

But even if that's the case, and call me prejudiced, but rather do business with our closest ally and trading partner, if not homegrown

But I'm thinking it's Polaris, and I think theyre in Minnesota?

Guess I can google it, huh?
