Donald Trump to run for president

Quote:Clinton vs Bush? Now one can debate, since that has a much higher probability.Barring a surprise Democratic candidate taking the party by storm (which isn't impossible--I don't think the Dems are as sold on Hillary as they seem), this is the most likely matchup. Either way, we're screwed. What's Rand Paul up to these days? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:boudreaumw, I like to debate you because you are clearly on the "other side" in most of our discussions. Because it's my opinion and not really debatable. You like the guy so want to but it's not possible to debate something I just feel about someone. You want an example though, so here you go, this nonsense about switching to country music because of 911. Sure it's not about policy or event about an issue, what it is, is a carefully crafted ideal about a persona I feel like he has crafted in order to pander to specific groups of people. He screams phony to me. I am sure you will disagree and that's fine because like with Bernie, neither will be winning the overall election. I do think Bernie could beat Hillary though. I think you all overestimate her hold with the DNC. At least I hope so. As with Bernie, if you think for a second he is doing this just to move Hillary, well then you don't really understand him or what he stands for.

Quote:Maybe he feels Cruz isn't " genuine" because he wasn't born here? However, look at the facts. Not genuine because "he wasn't born here". Really? Is that an issue? Of course, the textbook liberal tactic is to attack rather than confront the issue. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't. Quote:Umm... not sure how to respond. You asked for an example of why I do not think he is genuine. I gave you one and you do not know how to respond? Perhaps I jumbled some thoughts together. He claims he now listens to country music because of 911 and the way rock music reacted. I call shenagians and believe it's a total lie and a microcosm of him as a person. I think he has crafted his whole persona he portrays and is not genuinely who he is. Either way, we're screwed. It's almost like he's been black listed the media never mentions him good or bad they just simply act like he doesn't exist. Quote: While Donald Trump appears to be running as a right wing candidate and in the last two Presidential election cycles has shown more courage than the vast majority of Republicans, I'm highly skeptical about Trump being a Conservative. Trump's history of supporting left wing candidates, including relatively recently, leads to a bright yellow caution flag going up on this end: http://www.opensecrets.org/news/2011/02/...democrats/

Seems it's made it's way into regular people's speech now. Quote:Is "courage" the new "maverick" for the party to use? Seems it's made it's way into regular people's speech now. I can't speak for anyone else. But as someone who isn't happy with the approach most Republicans have taken on the national level for at least the last 7 years, here are my thoughts: When a Republican office holder, candidate, or party leader demonstrates they are willing to speak what I believe is the truth ( despite the backlash that will come their way ) , I think they are demonstrating courage and leadership.

While Trump certainly wasn't one of my top 3 or 4 candidates, this certainly gives me pause if he lined the pockets of Rangel, Kennedy, Reid, McCain, amongst others.
