Barring a surprise Democratic candidate taking the party by storm (which isn't impossible--I don't think the Dems are as sold on Hillary as they seem), this is the most likely matchup. Either way, we're screwed.

boudreaumw, I like to debate you because you are clearly on the "other side" in most of our discussions.

 

I pointed out in my previous post(s) my beliefs, and you have failed in your above posts to answer any of the questions that I raised.

 

I find it mildly amusing that you wont discuss why you feel that Ted Cruz is "not genuine" (your words not mine), and you fail to give examples of that opinion.

 

I certainly put forth my case regarding Bernie Sanders being a puppet.  Some mostly local media reports breathlessly how he "appears before massive crowds" as if he is so "main stream".  However, watch how quickly the "main stream media" disregards him once the Clinton attack machine starts up an goes into full power.

 

Here is something else to ponder.  How many national "main stream media" outlets are reporting about him?  I looked earlier, and no major news site had anything to say regarding him.  The only "press" that he's getting is the far left "blog" websites.

 

There is no question that the only reason he is in the race is to be on Hillary's left so that she can be viewed as a "moderate" candidate.

 

Once again, I point to my "little secret" that I stated earlier.  Being far right or far left isn't going to win the presidency.  It's going to be someone closer to the center.  Bernie Sanders is most certainly not, and Hillary is trying her best to move that way.  To her Bernie Sanders is more of a hindrance since she can't pander to her real supporters, those being on the far left.  She's tacking to the center in the attempt to get what really matters in politics, those closer to the center of the aisle.

 

Because it's my opinion and not really debatable. You like the guy so want to but it's not possible to debate something I just feel about someone. You want an example though, so here you go, this nonsense about switching to country music because of 911. Sure it's not about policy or event about an issue, what it is, is a carefully crafted ideal about a persona I feel like he has crafted in order to pander to specific groups of people. He screams phony to me. I am sure you will disagree and that's fine because like with Bernie, neither will be winning the overall election. I do think Bernie could beat Hillary though. I think you all overestimate her hold with the DNC. At least I hope so. 

 

As with Bernie, if you think for a second he is doing this just to move Hillary, well then you don't really understand him or what he stands for.

I can't speak for anyone else.  But as someone who isn't happy with the approach most Republicans have taken on the national level for at least the last 7 years,  here are my thoughts:

 

When a Republican office holder,  candidate,  or party leader demonstrates they are willing to speak what I believe is the truth  (  despite the backlash that will come their way  ) ,  I think they are demonstrating courage and leadership.

Interesting read. While Trump certainly wasn't one of my top 3 or 4 candidates, this certainly gives me pause if he lined the pockets of Rangel, Kennedy, Reid, McCain, amongst others.
