Jaguars' Marqise Lee fully cleared to practice

#21

Lee ran a 4.52 at the combine and most people were shocked by that "slow" time.

In the pre-draft videos I saw of him, he spent considerable time rehabbing his knee injury and I think he definitely wasn't 100% at least sprinting wise. I think he's a 4.4 guy that can get to his top speed with just a couple of steps, which makes him dangerous as a deep threat.

He looked rusty today.  He and Bortles were having trouble getting on the same page initially.  During individual unit drills, the receivers were working on some cut drills with a tackling dummy as the landmark to cut around.  One particular time, Lee went to make the cut and wound up turning wide and being 5 yards behind the dummy.

You know you've screwed up when you see Jerry Sullivan's head drop, he waves, and starts walking toward you.  He walked him off and had a few words, then had him go back and do it again.  Much better on the next attempt.

expected, I think.  New playbook, and has been nursing an injury the past few weeks.  He hasn't had many reps and it's reflecting in his practices.

That's troubling to hear. But he's a young guy who's been battling a nagging injury for quite some time, so maybe he'll pull through.

THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.

RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

Gus today said that Lee glides and I think that's pretty accurate. I was watching the Jags v. Ravens game from last season and Le absolutely ran by their CB's on multiple occasions. Blake and Lee weren't able to make the connection but his speed looked effortless. Of course I'm nit familiar with who the Ravens had at CB but still.

When you watch him run he doesn't look like he's a blazer but the way he went by guys towards the end of season I think he looks slower than he really is.

I know he's on their team but wasn't he banged up by then? I'm not %100 on that so that's why I mentioned that I wasn't sure.

Actually, all things considered, it shouldn't be that troubling for the reasons listed. When he gets healthy and can stay that way, he should be a real weapon.

If Lee hits the pup list or the IR/return list does Neal Sterling make the 53?

Hopefully Marqise's hamstrings aren't made of the same material as Cecil Shorts. We all saw how the injuries piled up on CS3 and robbed him of that big play ability that had us all excited for his future. Hamstrings and other soft tissue problems are always concerning because they seem to be recurring in nature.

The nagging injuries to Lee regardless of the magnitude has to be messing w/him mentally. Every time he's positioned to get in a groove he faces another obstacle w/respect to the injuries. I'd like to see him produce consistently for the remainder of his career w/o the nagging injuries as we all would. I'll fall short of labeling him as Injury Prone because it's too early for that but he's getting close to obtaining that label in my book...
